coachfraley
Hello Everyone, I just got back into the hobby again after a year and a half off. I was running a 40g FW system during my "layoff", but it just got too boring. My plan is to keep this tank as simple as possible...low light corals and lightly stocked. Just something for me and my daughter to enjoy. Equipment: 40g standard 4x39watt T5 fixture (ATI aquablue special, ATI blue plus, ATI Purple Plus, stock actinic) MP10* Aquaclear 70* with InTank media rack (chemipure elite, chaeto) Custom surface skimmer box with filter floss JBJ Nanoglo for fuge light Reef Octopus BH-1000 HOB skimmer* 47 lbs. of sand, 28 lbs. of "reef saver" rock from BRS, 9 lbs of store bought LR. *I am using all external pumps, so I am hoping to avoid the use of a chiller. Livestock: clown pair citron clown goby lyretail anthias skunk cleaner shrimp pair crocea clam Coral: mushrooms hairy mushrooms rhodactis mushrooms frogspawn (2) torch zoas, palys orange yuma acans (3) Thanks for looking in! coachfraley
Mine doens't expand as much since the clowns started hosting in it and nipping it. That is the main reason I am going with hairy and frilly mushrooms. I have had luck in the past with clowns hosting hairy mushrooms. Here is a shot from my old tank, my clown used to hide in between the shrooms: Link to comment

coachfraley
Very nice pictures! There are nicer mushrooms around these days too. Have you thought about the St Thomas ones? Thanks, the st. thomas' look really cool. I havent seen any around in the shops. I have 3 different shrooms that I picked up unattached. I have them in a soapdish with some rubble, and I am hoping they will latch on soon, so I can put them in the display. I have been very impressed with all the varieties of shrooms that I have seen around. A LOT more than I remember. Link to comment

coachfraley
My reef saver rock has colored up quite a bit. It now has a nice coat of green coraline algae. I ordered a 4x39 watt fixture that should be delivered in 2 days. I went with the fishneedit fixture. I also picked up a few more corals...an orange ric and purplish frogspawn. These hitchhiker palys have colored up nicely: New FTS: Link to comment

coachfraley
im lovin the scape, nice work Thanks! I love the eco-rock. It was so easy to scape. BTW, I dig your pico! Nice job. I'm hoping my clowns discover it soon. That is why I got mine, but I'm actually betting they end up one of the mushrooms. Still looking for some St. Thomas shrooms, I want to give them a lot of options. Link to comment
