Ive been thru andrews thread its awesome

its the reason why i did this tank it was gona be a fw cherry shrimp tank

1 of the reasons i havent done anything with the flow is that my corals seem happy

obviously if they start looking sad ill have to do it

as for the lighting im sure they will fade ive got sum gu10 3w blues and whites i can use

are there any better pumps i can swap with the stock pump?

Cheers

The two robot lights are still on there which add up 3.4w

so its virtually equal

i was makimg a gu10 fixture for this tank but its on hold for now

as the light didnt look right and the two colors didnt mix

looked a bit like a disco :)

I had 2 3w cool whites, 2 3w blue and 1 3w rgb with remote

I may finish it at sum point lol ive started stripping the bulbs down

and taken the lenses out and ill attach the led boards to a heatsink

wen i get time/money

Had a look around would a 27w par38 be to much

4 3w royal blue

4 3w cool white

1 3w warm white

£65 / $103

Is that expensive?

That is about the going rate, but it might be a little too much for this tank.

As for the 19k leds, I love them.

Thanks for the answer josh :)

They do a 15w par 30

2 white

3 blue

£40 / $ 63

Would that be better

cheers

Might have get some 19000ks then :D

A Par 30 would be a better choice for this size tank.

I think you should get the 19k LEDs, it is a night and day difference between them and the standard cool white LEDs.

Also on your advice ive purchased another pump

its a tunze micro pump

150 to 300 litre per hour

and with a bit of modifying it will fit nicely

will have to lose the cheato and light in the first chamber tho

unless i do the closed loop thing

You won't regret it.

I finally replaced my original pump last night. I used a MiniJet 404 pump. It fits perfectly in small chamber, once you remove the covers to it.

I used the original attachment, just put some 3/8 inch tubing around the pump and it fits like a glove.
