Slow day at work so i thought ill update this a little. My tank crashed a few weeks ago and lost all my SPS. Some LPS are still alive, barely. I cleaned up my entire tank, sump and all, cleaned up my skimmers and pumps, soaked the rocks in 3% HCl, and threw the tank back together and added nitrifying bacteria to the tank. Transferred whatever is still alive to the tank and hoped for the best. Corals were still dying and decaying in my tank, but I left it in there as its a source of ammonia for the cycle. Here are some shots of the skimmate it pulled up in a few days.

 

 

 

While I had the skimmer out of the tank, I thought I'll do a minor upgrade and replaced all the near impossible to turn nylon bolts with 316 grade stainless steel bolts. which I can tighten with a socket for a better seal. I wanted to get titanium but it wasnt available. Stainless should hold up for a while, They were cheap enough to replace if they start to corrode.
