JBJ Picotope.....but what light?

Depends on what works best in how you plan on setting it up....

There's the Coralife mini if you want to go the T5 route. Leds, you could go with a par30 or 38. More than enough light for anything you would want to put in there. Know though you're going to have to park it pretty high off the surface of the tank so there will be a lot of light "spill". Still going with LEDs you could DIY a fixture and get exactly what you need or want. Don't want to DIY why it then you have say, somebody like me build you one ;)

The DIY LED route is pretty simple. Maybe look into GU10 route, or www.aquastyleonline.com

The owner of aquastyle is usually pretty flexible from what i hear, so maybe you could try and work out a 12x3w led set up with dimmer. It would absolutely be overkill, so you could use fewer, or if you have the dimmer just turn it down a bit and then you can acclimate everything to the light.

What are you going to keep in it? I really like the PAR30 bulbs because they are relatively cheap and you can get custom color combos or switch them out without killing the bank. A Picotope is 12 inches wide which a PAR30/38 will cover. It also depends on how you want to mount the light. A PAR bulb would need a gooseneck.

I guess if money wasn't an issue, I'd look into the AI Nano. Now that's a light. :)

Edit: Wait... you already know this with your setup, LOL. Don't wanna go the same route again?

If I still had mine I would have someone build me a set-up like the one posted above (thanks thadscottmoore - makes me want to get another!) build by someone with a proven track record - I think he is around here somewhere.....

Full disclaimer: I have a skimmer built by that certain someone and love it, so I might exhibit some bias!

Another thought - I hate spillover, so even though I love and use a PAR30 (from BoostLED over my 15 XH), I would not over a Picotope. If you were going low light corals that Coralife T5 works well though. If you want high-light corals I suggest the custom set-up pictured above.
