How do you like the 110? I'm trying to find a quieter and easier to run alternative to my setup.

Thanks.

order was placed & it is on back order for the next few weeks (still). So at this time i am still skimmer less.

Picked up a used EURO REEF skimmer. This thing is a monster. 12 hours running and it's already pulling thick nasty gunky stuff that smells.... well smelly.

It was a bit tricky tunning it. It is after all my first "real" skimmer. I say real, because my only other experiences are with seaclones & aqua c remora's.

Gonna let things settle for a few weeks. Then start transferring corals from my 5g into this.

Indeed, it has been a long time. Im now one of those creepy stalker lurker interweb type persons. :ninja:

She was super excited the day i brought it home. Now, she spends atleast 20-30 minutes a day staring at all the various things. Bianca is a big helper. Always wants to help, doesnt matter if its cleaning the skimmer or feeding the fish. Maybe its time i set up a nano of her own.

I added 6 chromis about a month ago. Im down to 1 now. I chalk it up to them fighting amongst themselves.

Came home last night to find my flame angel stuck to one of my powerheads >.<

thought it was a gonner, Took it out of the tank & it started moving. (YAY!)....... So i immediately put it in the refugium. As of this morning it was swiming around in the fuge more, Tried to feed it, seemed interested. But didnt eat.

ANYWAY!

It just doesnt make any sense. The few corals i have are fine & open. All fish ate on monday (mondays the tank gets nori & sinking pelets)

Ammonia, nitrite & nitrates are all zeros. salinity is 1.023-1.024 temp is around 81.5* I havent measured ph in ages. From what i can see. None of the fish have any parasites. No other fish was bullying the flame (it and the tang are buddy buddy). Im hoping it was just a fluke accident. I'll keep it in the fuge for a few weeks to monitor it.

grrrrr

Your temp is a bit high, should be closer to 78*. Some fish will be more sensitive to it, but I'm not sure that was the cause. You are right to have moved the fish; healthy fish don't get stuck on powerheads.

flame was put in the sump

It is still alive. Swiming better already. I can see it nibbling at the rocks & glass. SO things look like its heading to a recovery

hey ! Any updates? My daughters almost 4 and is loving the tank now -- wants to help out like yours... soooo i asked her to just 'hold the hose while we change water' -- so I had to clean up a major mess on the floor.. lol -- but good times.... haha

Hope all's well!
