Pics of the new SPS?

i left the DSLR at school, cause i'm my T&F team's cameraman. so i couldn't get any good pictures with that. i have one iphone pic that i'm trying to fix right now. i actually have to text my parents and ask how it's doing! thanks for reminding me.

Man I need to learn now to use my camera. I have a Nikon d5200 I believe. I have a tripod and all types of fancy stuff. Still can't take a picture to save me life :(

Pic looks nice. Is Lightroom a free editing program?

out of about 200 pics, i got 1 good one. patience is your best friend!

and no lightroom isn't free. my friend got it for me since he got a super discount being a graphic design major.

my advice is to keep taking pictures. every bad picture is a learning experience! and just keep meddling with camera settings, after a while you'll be able to tell what settings to use. and how all the aspects of a photograph relate (ISO, WB, SS, aperture, etc)

hopefully its less blue. :o

now i have 4x blue+ 1 coral+ 1 purple+

I would think the pure actinic would add quite a bit blue with x3 blue+ and x1 purple+? Not really sure I guess.

i thought i remembered reading that the pure actinic bulb was whiter, so i had that in my head for some reason. (which i know now is wrong). doh. oh well i guess i'm going for a bluer look.

nanotopia actually recommended this combo back on page 25ish. so i thought it'd be worth a shot.

I am just guessing. I haven't used T5HO in about 4 years and haven't ever used the pure actinic personally so...

Pure actinic bulbs can hardly be seen by the human eye at all.

i guess we'll have to wait and see when the bulbs swap! :D

Well, there it is. The lesson here? Don't trust the guy who has used mostly LED and MH :D

moved over the small red planet frag, and a different frag of one of the original test acros that my urchin decided to drop behind the rockwork somewhere. i used to know the name but it's escaping me right now.

The True Actinic is, as Ben said, not a bright bulb. But it offers a big bump in the 420nm range. It works well also if your fixture is oversize for your tank and just too bright. Putting a True Actinic in can lower the intensity but just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not doing something. Works well as a sunrise/sunset bulb. If you find you need more PAR, replace it with a Blue+ or Coral+ maybe.

Glad to see everything has turned around for you and you are enjoying the tanks again :)

Ben, where did you get that graph?
