TheKleinReef
Pics of the new SPS? i left the DSLR at school, cause i'm my T&F team's cameraman. so i couldn't get any good pictures with that. i have one iphone pic that i'm trying to fix right now. i actually have to text my parents and ask how it's doing! thanks for reminding me. TheKleinReef
here's the best i could do.... :/ iphone camera is nothing compared to my nikon d300s... lol New sps-3569 by xMrKleinReef, on Flickr just got a text from the parents. from what i understand the poylps are out. and there's no "dramatic white lines" (the easiest way to explain tissue necrosis ) 2 Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
i'm still a noob at lightroom so i've been going a tad over board with some of the adjustments but overall i am enjoying lightroom: brain edit 2- by xMrKleinReef, on Flickr original: Trachphyllia by xMrKleinReef, on Flickr 2 Quote Link to comment

Is Lightroom a free editing program? out of about 200 pics, i got 1 good one. patience is your best friend! and no lightroom isn't free. my friend got it for me since he got a super discount being a graphic design major. my advice is to keep taking pictures. every bad picture is a learning experience! and just keep meddling with camera settings, after a while you'll be able to tell what settings to use. and how all the aspects of a photograph relate (ISO, WB, SS, aperture, etc) 2 Quote Link to comment

Arkayology
hopefully its less blue. now i have 4x blue+ 1 coral+ 1 purple+ I would think the pure actinic would add quite a bit blue with x3 blue+ and x1 purple+? Not really sure I guess. Quote Link to comment

Not really sure I guess. i thought i remembered reading that the pure actinic bulb was whiter, so i had that in my head for some reason. (which i know now is wrong). doh. oh well i guess i'm going for a bluer look. nanotopia actually recommended this combo back on page 25ish. so i thought it'd be worth a shot. Quote Link to comment

NanoTopia
The True Actinic is, as Ben said, not a bright bulb. But it offers a big bump in the 420nm range. It works well also if your fixture is oversize for your tank and just too bright. Putting a True Actinic in can lower the intensity but just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not doing something. Works well as a sunrise/sunset bulb. If you find you need more PAR, replace it with a Blue+ or Coral+ maybe. Glad to see everything has turned around for you and you are enjoying the tanks again Ben, where did you get that graph? 2 Quote Link to comment
