Looks good!

I would add a back gound and some more liverock before you move the fish and coral to the new tank.

What kind of light are you running?

the back is in the mail (: and i'm about 4 weeks away from moving anything into this tank. I literally just started. The local fish store was closed today so i couldn't get live rock. i'll be cycling with live rock tomorrow. and i'm going to get some cheato for the refugium.

as for lights i have custom made LEDs from a private vendor that works for a private LFS. High out put 18 bulb LEDs 1 10K white, 1 460nm blue not sure on the wattage i'll get back to you.

My newest additions:

corals:

Yellow Star Polyps

Zoanthids

White Acropora

Inverts:

19 year old blue maxima clam

Corals I want:

more SPS ( acropora echinatas)

elegance coral

Changes:

1. no filter sock

2. 2 new LED strips ( total of 4 18 bulb strips 2 10K white, 2 460nm blue)

questions:

does anyone have any experience with "reef snow" does it work, and is it worth it?

Hey Guys it's week 6 and here's some new stuff!

One of my clowns is hosting my torch coral frag:

233.png

The other is hosting my Xenia Rock:

236.png

Here's Sheldon, my blue maxima clam, i've had it for bout 3 weeks now and he's loving it!

234.png

Just recently I got ANOTHER maxima clam, i am amazed by these creatures. This ones less bright with some grey on it:

237.jpg

Bad News:

I lost 3 out of my 4 firefish. I have a healthy tank that is super stable. I think i have some sort of predatory crab that is hunting them while they are sleeping in the rocks. I'm concerned for my clown-fish now. They're not a fancy breed, but i've become attached to them, and i don't want anything to happen to them. :/ My guess is that i have some sort of hitch hiker predatory crab like a mithrax. I've read that they will nab sleeping fish in the rocks and i think that is what happened.

Solution: I tried some techniques to catch it such as leaning a clear glass against the rock and putting some shrimp in the bottom, but i amways end up catching my clan up crew hermits. :/ Advice would be apprepciated.

Lastly, I thought you guys would enjoy this picture: (: i know i do.

I LOVE your tank! Nice clams and nice torch coral, those are what I hope to eventually have in my tank once I get it running. I'm still in the process of reading forums to gain as much info as I can before I start, I'll probably do a 29 gallon as well =D!

EDIT: BTW what kind of lighting are you running? Do you think an Aquatic Life T5HO 30" would be good lighting for those awesome clams you have? This is the one: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod...mp;pcatid=21460

i actually have 4 18w led strips on this tank. 2 10k and 2 460nm. they're from epistar.

here they are:

if you want your clams on the bottom, you may need a tad more light. if that's not an option just more the clams up to where you would put sps. it'll attach to the rocks with fibers that come from its foot. (:

Awesome tank Roger.

I love that green torch color and maxima clam!!

thanks! due to the fact my clown is hosting my torch now, its stressed out. i'm going to need to separate them soon before something disastrous happens to my torch. it's never fully extend (like it is in my signature picture). :(

Love the scape! And your clams are purdy  Dont worry my tank threads dont get much attention either. And actually if you read the tank threads that have 100 pages you realise they quit talking about the tank around page 4 lol

I like your tank! I want one of those clams. I'm just starting out so it's fun to watch those a bit ahead of me. Love all the pictures. I'm new here and not an expert on anything so have no advice or suggestions, just wanted to say...very pretty!
