markalot
Roger, lack of polyp extension is due to the Flame Angel. Doesn't mater if you see it nip or not, it does the quick drive by nip that is hardly noticed. I never understood the BRS bulk additives. They are missing a lot of things used up in a tank and, I suppose, rely on water changes to make those up. Am I wrong about the bulk additives only containing alk, calcium, and mag? It seems to be working fairly well since i upped the feedings. the only thing i'm trying to deal with now is PE. 1 Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
Stopped in at reefwise. One red dragon for $38 and a Hawkins echinata for $55. Not bad. Not bad at all. Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
I took arks advice and made th shapes I wanted for the new aquascape. I love how it turned out. I just have too much LPS and it ruins the look. I may end up selling a lot if my LPS that don't fit with the scape. I'm gonna wait for the water to clear up before I post any pictures. Here's a hint. That arch rock with the 2 montis and all the acro frags.... GONE. I could never get that rock to fit the scape and I'm glad I committed to chipping the corals off. 1 Quote Link to comment

TheKleinReef
I like your reveal. Maybe the before after pictures together would be cool to see. Hint hint ahem cough cough just for you kat before: RMK_0369.jpg by xMrKleinReef, on Flickr after: RMK_0461.jpg by xMrKleinReef, on Flickr FTS 7_5_14 by xMrKleinReef, on Flickr i still think the LPS need some arrangement, and i made a bunch of "Oops frags" and the elengane looks huge for some reason. i think it likes the short pulse mode on the vortechs much better. s on each side > one on each wall. 6 Quote Link to comment

TheKleinReef
I did my best. I busted out a chizzle and some epoxy to make the towers. I really liked how it turned out. 2 Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
One of the delicate stags is responding very well to the b-balance. I started dosing consistently again and it became noticeably more vibrant red within a week. I also moved the front left rock diagonally towards the corner and moved some of the coral around. Pics when it's clear again. too much rearranging makes for a cloudy display. On a bright side PE was insane last night I tried to get some pics, I'll post those as well. Even saw PE on the the ORA Hakwins. 1 Quote Link to comment

Arkayology
Much better looking, man! Nice looking frags, too! I have both of them and they have been very good growers for me. I never see PE on my hawkins during the day, but little whispey polyps come out ever night. 1 Quote Link to comment

TheKleinReef
whaaat?! what about a little one? 10G? 5? 8G biocube? nope. my landlord seems like a really cool guy and his exact words were "i would perfer you not to have one." but who knows, if i show him an apex and all of the backup anti-distaster features maybe he'll be more open to it. if not.... i don't wanna think about if not.... TheKleinReef
did a barrage of tests today..... #wut ca: 450 (cut dosing 5mL) currently dosing 20mL Alk: 7.5 (upped dosing 4mL) currently dosing 24mL mg: 1320 (still weekly dose of 10mL) this whole week the tank has been consistent at 7.5-7.8 dKH maybe it's balancing out. It just seems weird that the calcium level hasn't changed in 4 months even when i change the doser... water change time! 10g 2 Quote Link to comment
