Excellent pictures. I love that SPS island in the middle. Great work.

thank you! its starting to be my favorite part of the tank.

Man, this looks nice! How do you like your Radion? Have you changed the settings?

i absolutely love the radion. only two corals don't seem to like the lights, but its only been a few weeks so maybe they will color up again. right now i have the max intensity at about 50%. i'm getting some good growth out of my corals, so i might not change it until i start moving lps down and stocking the live rock with sps.

Looks like a heavy load but then the tank look great so I guess you have the filtration and all of that well under control

yeahhh the sump i have is advertised as being "capable of filtering a 90 gallon tank" i'm not so sure about the 90 gallon part, but i think its doing an excellent job at keeping everything in check. all my levels are 0. and that skimmer pulls out some nasty gunk. hahah

thanks though (:

WEEK 28 UPDATE

Sorry for the long time on inactivity, if anyone cares, I've been focusing all my time on running and my AI Nano lit 6 gallon. But even then i haven't been posting on that thread either. hah but here's my tank today:

Help Please:

In the past month I've noticed that the health of my SPS colonies is increasing while the health of my LPS colonies have been slowly decreasing. Not to the point of complete flesh retraction but a noticeable difference is flesh coloration and extension. I've heard that if the water is "too clean" some LPS will no thrive but survive. The most noticeable colony that is suffering this problem is my Torch Coral that I've had since October of 2011 (my very first coral). here's what it used to look like:

ea3f1b88.jpg

recently is has looked like this:

Do you guys have any thoughts on what it may be?

Just to avoid the question: What are your parameters?

Calcium: 420

Alk: 9

NO3: undetectable ≈ 0

PO4: undetectable ≈ 0

No2: Undetectable ≈ 0

temp: 80 F

SG: 1.024

Color Temp from Radion: 20K

WEEK 30ish

The Torch is looking much much better (as an update for the post which no one responded to @_@)

But i did bite the bullet and get one of these:

d05f7067.jpg

an absolutely stunning rose bubble tip for only $60 (which is decent for the LFS i go to, everything there is WAY overpriced)

I acclimated it for 30minutes and i set it in a place i thought it would like, and sure enough its been 24 hours and it hasn't moved an inch. Hopefully it stays there so i won't have to move corals around. >.<

but yeah. My first anemone! AHHHH!

WEEK 39 WOW. What a gap huh?

Where have I been?

If you're subscribed to me on you tube, i discussed it a little bit in my videos. I lost all motivation to upload anything tank related because everything i did seemed to get either a) really good comments or b)harassed beyond the point of normal standards. I'm back now and I hope my 412 subscribers, and you lovely people will help me get back to my high appreciation for the hobby. trolls: the door is the "home button."

Well what's happened in the last 9 weeks? Lets list it off!

  • almost a tank crash due to an over dissolved amount of alkalinity. the tank recovered quickly and everything is doing fine now.
  • my maxima died. I researched it and i noticed that it didn't have a foot at all, which was its demise :( RIP Sheldon
  • Radion color temperature change: I dropped the Green and Red LEDs downs to 5% compared to the 65% they were at. Colors have been ever increasing.
  • My bubble tip anemone settled in a perfect spot behind the rock scape so i can't look at it at all. hopefully adding the black background will help prevent the light from bouncing off the wall and entice it move.
  • yellow tail damsel out of the blue killed the other. after almost a year of harmony, one of them went nuts and beat the bageezes out of the other. sadly he did not survive. I think the introduction of my new angel fish sparked some aggression. :(
  • NEW Livestock

Picture time:

Anemone in the absolute worst spot imaginable, behind the rock work.

The deepwater acro i had in my 6gal, but it lost all of its color. so i moved it to the 29 for revival. as you can see its doing wonderful despite being 50% fragged:

Plans for the near future:

1. Auto top off unit.

2. Dose kalkwasser

3. Get rid of that tree coral on the far right.

4. Get rid of the galaxae in the top right.

5. Clean up some nuisance algae I have growing in random places.

What do you guys think?

What were you initial settings on your radion ? And what are they now with your corals ?

Initially they were the preset 14k at 50%

Now they're the preset 18k with the reds and greens dropped down to 5% while the blues and whites are at 65%.

Overall the corals responded well to the radion. And I love the features of it.

Did some rearranging! now i can see my anemone! before it was in the back, so i turned the rock around and its been 24 hours and it hasn't moved hopefully it doesn't *fingers crossed* I went out and bought some silversides and cut one up into about 7 or so pieces all being about 1/8" and i fed the anemone 2 in a span of 30 minutes. and i also fed my plate coral and it was fascinating watching the 2 devour the piece of fish. (:

Here's some pictured in case you guys are curious. I put pictures on every post that way the thread isn't too boring. (:
