Fugal edge sells a sponge filter that fits perfectly over the bottom of filters like your.I use it on mine and i just take off the filter sponge andsqueeze it out.It keeps stuff from getting sucked up in there to.Its like 3 dollars. Its just one of the things i find real handy for my tank. They last about three to four months.

I received my GU10 sockets today that I had ordered from eBay. Not much excitement yet besides setting up various things such as electrical and other equipment... oh and I also got the light frame painted.

i hope those gu10 bulbs work.

it's a super cheap option compared to the par3X's & retro led fixtures.

Why didnt i think of that?

I hope they work too! ha, and my total for the whole fixture including the bulbs was a little under $40

looks good man. what are the stocking plans?

Well, im going with zoas and rics at first. Then i'll add a couple LPS. I'll see how my lights go, if they work well then I might try a couple monti frags

I went to the LFS and picked out 2 pieces of LR. found some zoa hitchhikers, a sponge, and a couple brittle stars

which GU10 bulbs did you get? 3x1w, 3x3w, 4x1w... I'm just curious. I like the build so far, going to be tagging along for the ride.
