sidjam
Just wondering if you had any pics or updates on this? Link to comment
inTank
Still in testing. Actually didn't get to test it much becuase of MACNA. After we catch up from that we will look at it again. Probably can get some pictures of the prototypes posted here soon. Here is one of the models (the AC110 will probably have two) that was posted from MACNA one more teaser Link to comment
sidjam
Looks sweet!! I've got a tunze 9002 and an ac110 just waiting for this. Link to comment
inTank
The one for the 9002 has a custom cut out in it, so it fits inside the basket and probably won't even need the magnet mount. Even has a cut out for a cord, man I love that laser. Link to comment
Paleoreef103
It looked pretty slick at MACNA! You test it out at all? Link to comment
inTank
Just for a short time we literally made the thing a few weeks before MANCA. More testing is needed to make sure the design is correct. But after making media baskets for 3.5 years once you have the principle you just need to make it fit in your application. Link to comment

This is the first one to be fitted for a 9002 though isn't it? Link to comment
inTank
Yes in an aquaclear media basket. In an actual aquaclear 110 I doubt it the tunze 9002 fits if you take the crappy stock basket out. Biggest thing is going to be the water level. Link to comment
sidjam
Roger from Tunze has said that the optimum water level for the 9002 is 1/4-1/2 in. below the water level mark on the skimmer. Link to comment
inTank
That is correct. Which is exactly where it is sitting at in this basket Link to comment
sidjam
Does the media basket raise the water level in the ac110? Link to comment
GuySmily
Yeah, I'm watching this too. Link to comment
inTank
Sorry guys, more testing this weekend things got side tracked with the busy season upon. Will post any updates here as they are known. Link to comment

Jmifland
I was talking with StevieT this morning and there is going to be room for two 50W heaters in the basket. Not sure if that is the same basket that holds the skimmer that a saw above but that definitely sold me on this product. Subscribed and can't wait for this to be released! Link to comment
StevieT
The one for the skimmer will have a spot for one heater, probably limited to a 50W because the height of the filter case. Link to comment

Which skimmer cup would need to be purchased to fit with the media basket? Or would the stock skimmer cup work? Link to comment
StevieT
As much as I could lie and sell more cups, the stock one will work fine unless you had a width issue outside of the filter. I didn't test with the stock cup because it is ugly and silly and stuff but don't think it sticks out past the width of the 110 body or if it does not very much. Will confirm later. Link to comment
inTank
Testing is going very well. I love these baskets they are huge and so functional. I will try and post some pictures tomorrow of them running side by side. If it's a go they are placed on the production schedule this coming week. Link to comment

MiketheBarb3r
Interested in this product but can you explain? I purchased a media basket from you guys for my bio cube, is thisthe same concept for the ac110? What's that tunze thing? Thanks in advance! Link to comment
inTank
It is a similar concept but for an aquaclear HOB filter. It forces water through each individual chamber and has a spot for filter floss. The water hits that first so all detritus is caught and mit makes for easy changes. The Tunze 9002 is a protein skimmer. Link to comment
