I am not but I plan on incorporating one if my new filter / fuge I love this tank! It's simple and elegant. That clam is gorgeous! Reef Casa
Here are some photos of the new HOB filter / fuge I built the fluval 105 was doing enough and I wanted to hide the heater I think I took some photos of the construction and can put them up if anyone is interested in how I made it Its a basic pump around 265 gph some foam , carbon, and chemipure in one chamber and macro in the other Not 100% happy with it though I would like to make some changes to the outside and I'm thinking about adding an ehiem compact 3000 what are your opinions? Basic Idea From the right From the left From the front Top down Didn't want anyone to get bored with just photos of a fuge/filter My first acro- went through some tough times together but its holding on and seems to be growing The white tip = growth after ~ 1 month OPINIONS on the new fuge please Link to comment
duoc9119
Looks nice! I would say replace the spa flex for something more rigid, like pvc so the straight horizontal and vertical lines will match the tank and such. Just an aesthetic point of view. Your filter looks very much like a super aquaclear filter! I like it! Simple yet has room for expansion! Just be sure to clean the propeller occasionally from gunk. Maybe attach the suction in to an overflow so you can get the surface skimming as well? Link to comment
Reef Casa
"like pvc so the straight horizontal and vertical lines will match the tank and such" YES! Time to go to home depot "Maybe attach the suction in to an overflow so you can get the surface skimming as well? " Great idea - Im trying to figure out how to do it without being to invasive to the tank / make it look good Link to comment
duoc9119
My thoughts for the overflow is make an N essentially. So if you look at the letter N, the left leg will be to your pump, it will go vertically and use an elbow to go horizontal just so you can get past the rim of the tank, then another elbow to go down, this is the middle middle part of the N then attach one more elbow and then a adapter elbow, so you can go to a slightly larger diameter pvc to go vertically. Then you can just turn the 2nd to last elbow you put in to somewhat "collapse" the whole assembly so it isn't hanging in the middle of the tank. Link to comment
JayPagi
Looks good very nice design! Did you add another powerhead? Link to comment
