Well today i fond a deep blue sponge that has awesome color.I went to another store and left it in the car aboit twenty min and the water got a little cold and i think it browned out a little which strikes me as odd.but over the last few hours its been regaining color under the light.Maybe the lights were differnt at the peetstore which were more whiteish but anyways its a real deep blue and a nice find.its the stick in the middle of the photo covered in sponge.

Well tank was started March 28 2011.Theres been losses and gains.I think coral wise im about balanced put in the money i spent but i miss zoas.I had that pox beak out and basicly lost alot pf good things so i dont want zoas again until i buy a house.I think palys are more resistant to that pox stuff.I have a bunch of green palys that all came from one or two of them and they look cool growing in with the blue CAM00408.jpg cloves.

those do look cool. i think i had palys almost like that before but mine did not have the cool green mouths.

yes zoa pox is a bummer. i remember my zoas got it i think twice and it did kill off quite a few. i even bought furan 2 to treat the pox but i never ended up using it (and later gave it away) because my zoas recovered from pox with time. i guess i just got lucky.

you say all your zoas were wiped out from the pox?

There is always a risk of getting it when you introduce new zoa frags from unknown sources. i think it is sort of like a virus that gets activated from the shipping stress the frags are put through. just a guess.

I've taken a aggressive fight towards the fireworks as not feeding them resulted in them eating algae off the rocks and floating algae.Flat tweesers are recommended.Pinching them ithout snapping them in half takes some practice. You have to pinch them and pull them out of the rock.It takes practice but you have to get them out before they slip out of the tweesers. Its a rather ruthlessway of dealing with them but they showed no pity on killing my damsel so the odds are even.It was a very bad idea letting these into my reef. From one firework I've went to about 100 but I've only about 20 Max now and most are small. The pistol shrimp i had basicly from the beginning of my nano snaps his claw if they get close to his hole.it is still very small and rarely seen. The tanks are neglected with only a air pump running on them but I do a complete water change every two weeks.I've started feeding again because I have some baby feather dusters that have appeared which have doulble heads to each tube. Some are very nice with blue speckson them.I also have a boom in red tenacled worms and the clear strand searching worms that makes tube out of substrate.Blue copeods are also in there.I will try to hook up mp10 and filter on next water change which is mixing now and may install my frag rack for some plugs that have been growing.I traded some of my rainbow a cans for one head of a green rainbow a can and feeding has produced some growth with tissue spreading down its reef base and a few heads are emerging.feedings are 2 times a week.post-64274-0-01026600-1400981550_thumb.jpgpost-64274-0-01026600-1400981550_thumb.jpgpost-64274-0-10592100-1400981648_thumb.jpgpost-64274-0-10592100-1400981648_thumb.jpg

Well I just did a 100 percent water change on both tanks and found a pink tipped asteria I picked up from the pet store a fewweeks ago. This starfish must hide somewhere because I never see it and I was looking for it a lot.the pet store owner said he found it in his fudge and he knew I collected them from talking and offered it to me for free but I gave him a dollar for it because I was happy with the addition.I think I have five types now.if you have a asteria please post a picture of it.

I found it when takeing all the rock out and placed it for a photo on top.

I have

Rainbows

Redsish brown

Pink tipped

Greys

Browns

Ya I've been in saltwater a few years and never seen one like this. The pet store owner never seen one either.I was worried it got its color by eating something pink or maybe it was a color change that happens during certain parts of the year but its kept its color three weeks. When it splits I may trade its twin off to someone on here with a developed tank to be safe in not loading the species.I sometimes travel far and unfornately have to take my tanks with me.so I sometimes lose things in the moves.its summer now and no plans for all that but it should split soon its bigger then a nickel.

Well seems the pink tipped asrera eats molts from a crab. This crab has been in my tank for over a year and I haven't had any problems with it.The picture sucks but the pink dots is the starfish.its about 7pm I don't know if its been out all day or when it got there.post-64274-0-41853300-1402353479_thumb.jpg

Hope everyone's doing well.This summer I only had.3 additions to the.tank

I traded 3 rainbow scans for a single head about a month ago and.it was.a.fresh.cut so I blasted it with light and.got 9 heads as.baby's all around the top head so that and.everything else is doing well.I had a.cerith lay so

E eggs in a no filter system so I gave the eggs of ha thing but aster a starfish seemed to eat the eggs and.I wasn't feeding once a.week so they were.pro ally snacking.I find its good to throw in the shrimp tail because.they snack on that.other then that I just bought one hawain pink and green and one red palythoa.Again I have three plugs of the green plays for sale. They are almost as bright as the favia.I think there nice but there's also another type that has a brown similar to palythoa grand is growing right next to greeen but they are.in fact 2 different palythoa breedspost-64274-0-37578600-1407716477_thumb.jpgpost-64274-0-40146400-1407716559_thumb.jpgpost-64274-0-40146400-1407716559_thumb.jpgpost-64274-0-40146400-1407716559_thumb.jpg

Heavy feeding.Tommrow I will flip the corals over to the two five gallon tanks.Maybe tonight or tommrow I'll post a picture of a rare acan I picked up.It was cut about a hour ago but i smothered it in mysis shrimp to get the scan to produce heads out the side where the cut was made.I expect three heads to pop out there.

You can't really see it to well now. Also took home a degradeing acan and supriseingly its also eating.
