movingshadow Posted February 20, 2004 Share Posted February 20, 2004 first off, nice tank!! the thing above the torch looks like a sponge to me... if it turns out to be one, you'll might want to move it to a shady spot. These types of sponges (I have some of those yellow ones myself) are non photosynthetic, they only filter. If they get too much light, algae can form in their syphon passages and syphons causing them to clog and the sponge to die (can be dangerous as the sponge releases all trapped toxins and antibiotic matter when it starts to dissolve...) hth you might try posting it in the identification forum...
