I've dropped some hints over the last months, but didn't want to show it off until it was running.

my 15g tank thread
My 15g sprung a leak and everything had to be moved to an emergency 10g. Luckily this was at the same time as the petco $ per gal sale !

15g was in the kitchen, new tank is in the basement (no more overheating !)

Custom built stand July 2010 with plumbing through wall to fish room !

Water circulating through fuge early August in 'fish room' under the stairs !

LR from 15g tank... plus dry rock

9/7/10 50lbs of dry rock from John @ reefcleaners !!

WOW alot of 40B peninsula's lately...

thats cuz they're the best ! jk... i really wanted to show off two separate and different FTS's eventually. Thats where I was going with the 'mountain range' scape. Also with the powerheads and return, water circulates around very well, in a big circle kinda like the gyre tanks.

Looks great, wish i had the space for a fish room

thanks! It worked out really well using the space under the stairs for the fish room.

Last Saturday I picked up some new critters !

Firefish, Royal Gramma, Lobo, Tongue Coral, closed brain and some GSP

Fuego is a little crazy. Jumped out of the acclimation cup into the tank after only 30 seconds ! Seems like he's fine now. Keeping the egg crate on the tank ;)

All 3 LPS were on sale, they were looking pretty thin, but are coming back after only a week and generous feedings.

Close up of the new closed brain... any better ID on this piece?

It has puffed up a lot in the last week. When I got it I noticed a couple tiny tiny crabs burrowed in holes in the skeleton... at first I though they were cool, then did some research and found they were Gall Crabs (or something similar) Iodine dip and scraping out their caves did the trick... the flesh of the coral is now growing over the holes the nasty crabs dug out.

sometimes I think I'm the only one who understands everything that's going on here.

Looks good! Did you ever get an algae bloom? All of you rocks look super clean.

Thanks ! Not really, a small amount of diatoms on the sand and some film on the new dry rock, but I haven't even upgraded my CUC yet from what was in the 15g !

post-45639-1290274151_thumb.jpg

here are some tiny florida cerith babies and some egg looking things (all about 1-2mm) I have also noticed nerite and even nassarius babies !

Thank God for egg crate !! Looking at the tank from a distance I saw the gramma swim through the rocks into the firefish 'zone'... firefish FREAKED OUT and bolted skyward, smacking the egg crate, hydroplaning accross the surface then smacking it again. 100% chance of it being on the carpet without the crate.

I have officially given up on Peppermint shrimp (again.) Over 16 months and 2 tank I have had 12 of them. Big ones, small ones, single, pairs, whatever.

Many of them have eaten some aiptasia, but none have eliminated it and ALL have disappeared within 1-3 months despite the fact that my cleaners live on. Saving up for Berghia Nudibranchs.

Any updates? I kept losing peppermint shrimp too, but I had a sixline wrasse with them. haha. I since put my sixline in another tank, and had 2 pepp shrimp clean all of the aiptasia out of my tank (I havent had any aiptasia for about 6 months). My peppermint shrimp eventually went missing though too. Maybe they just dont have a very long life expectancy! haha

I feel like it's really hard to photograph the tank. I think my camera just sucks.

Over the past year my tank has had a tough fight. Frogspawn got brown jelly disease and we lost about 50% of it - but now i have some frags that are growing well.

The Candycane took it even harder - only 4 heads survived. Peroxide and vitamin C helped the tank get through.

Now I am running the old T5's and also a 12 LED setup- will eventually have 3 -12 LED heat sinks.

again sorry for the bad pics.
