Skylar
I just got my first fish in my 15g aquarium, a black and white striped Damselfish (can't remember if he has 3 or 4) because they're supposed to be pretty hardy. He's been in there for a 6+ hours and when I first put him in he hid and was spazzing out in the corner by the filter. I had acclimated him for an hour slowly adding water to the bag. Now it took me forever to find the fish and after using a mirror to check the back of the tank he's hidden himself in a crevice in a rock. His white color has also turned gray. I think this has something to do with the lighting because he was grey after I took him out of the bag when bringing him home then he turned white and black again after putting him in the lighted tank. I assume it was just because the lights were off? Is this behavior and coloration normal? Link to comment
cheryl jordan
Normal Coloration can change in response to stress, or any number of environmental factors. Link to comment
Degener8
Yup i agree its probably stress related. Hopefully in the next day or so he will come around and be his jolly self once again. Link to comment
Zo0k365
+1 to stress, most fish do that Link to comment
