Newest edit - so this thread will be more for discussing whatever topics along the way about experimental macros, trouble with macros etc.. We will try to use this thread:

http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=245901

To organize the information about some particular species that pop up in this thread

Edit - this thread is about the care of some of the new/different/unavailable/harder to keep macros and sponges in the hobby. It started out a little different though. To be honest, I have edited this edit twice now and will probably continue to do so until it is confusing. Anything offered by me in this thread will either be free, or for a nominal charge to cover the additional shipping weight of the item. (You still have to be able to care for the item though and post some feedback)

originialish first post follows----------------

I am coming across quite a bit of Sebdenia, Halymenia elongata (not your run of the mill halymenia), and Sciania. have probably butchered the spelling on all these names, but they are within reason. Well my macro people know what these species look like already. I will post pics on the site when/if they become available one the site but I wanted to give the people who have been waiting all year first dibs. PM if you are interested in any of these species and we can go from there. $10 each, sorry but I am getting beat up by the current in this particular spot and I am short one flipper. All of these require Express Mail outside the state of Florida to arrive alive. All species have a decent size waiting list I have compiled throughout the year, after a few days though all non-responses will be cleared. No one has to pay until they are at the top of the waiting list and the order is filled.

So, if you are interested you can pm me, or post here saying you are interested, what species you want, and how many and we can go from there.

If you are not familiar with Sebdenia flabellum (sp?) and Halymenia elongata they look very similar, and one or the other would be fine for most purposes, I doubt you could tell them apart, maybe even next to each other. Also some other Halymenia species like H. duchasignae and floridana. They can be added for $7/5 respectively.

i got the one still. :) another month or so, i should have both going. :)

normally i find stuff after weeties order, if I am not mistaken you ordered twice this month b/c of that...just for it to happen a 3rd time.

here are the species I have, low numbers on each though, so I am just going to do some mixing and matching on the ones that weren't listed before:

Halymenia elongata (Looks like a red semi-translucent version of codium, but is awesomer than what you are thinking. No...even better than that, keep going. )

Sebdenia flabellata - only small pieces of this actually...

Halymenia pseuofloresia - only one really nice one, but a few that will grow out

Agardhinula browneae - only one, person who gets it will be purely random.

CHrysymenia eneteromorpha - poor shipper, pods eat it, will throw some in for free probably or keep it myself and see if i can grow some out

Stypoodium zonale - nice brown macro -

Halymenia duchassaingii - on the site

Halymenia echinophysa - looks great in nature, hard to aquascape with if you have a small tank though because it gets BIG

Nemastoma gelatinosum - probably doesn't look like what you are thinking

Predea feldmannii - just a few of these too

lol...the good news weetie is you know most of the people getting them and they should have cuttings for you at some point if I don't keep running across it. Someone is getting a sciania piece that is the size of a volleyball, they will have some to share soon.

I passed up some Kallymenia westii today...not sure why it had been on my wish list for awhile.

i am still beating myself up over the kallymenia...that was dumb. some banded rudderfish is probably gnawing on it....the growth patterns (in this spot at least), for these things is really cool...quick bloom and then eaten it seems. I may just be in the wrong location though. I used to think one item was rare and found out I was 20 feet from where I was supposed to be.

packages in the mail. :) Take pics for me please, I took some, but they are terrible and don't do the algae any justice. For success:

moderate to strong Flow

Low Light

That goes for every red species you got today. The algae doesn't hold itself up, it needs to get pushed around a bit. Other than that a noob from the first shipment is keeping them with success so you should all be fine.
