I don't think I've seen these in stores. Is it a jumper? I refuse to put a mesh or lid on this build.

Yeah, I think so. I think pygymy wrasse covers all the little wrasses. So you could do Pink-Streaked wrasse (my favorite), or the possum wrasses which come in a red and white, or yellow/gray. Those are the 3 I can think of off the top of my head.

Dear lord Aj, where are you putting all these frags LOL. Your going to need a bigger tank soon. :)

Lol I was thinking the same thing. I don't see a single spot to add another frag!

Looking good AJ

Lol, yea it is a bit excessive. I am definitely running out of room. There are like 1 or 2 more spots of rock where SPS could be mounted... but I think I am just about done with SPS. I am going to need to build/drill a frag tank soon.

I picked up 4 more corals at the Fragmeet, one I am most excited about is Vivid's Rainbow Delight SPS from another collector, he got the piece directly from Jason Fox. I also got a piece from Reef Raft called Green Plasma and an old school Tyree Mr. Pacman. Lastly Incredible Aquarium gave me an amazing deal on what they dub "Ultimate Rainbow Rasta" (Lineage also from Reef Raft) which is a more neon and insane morph of the Rasta they typically retail for 75$/polyp and I got a frag of 5 or 6 heads for less than 75$ total... awesome.

Probably a good idea to add a frag tank. Considering when these corals take off growing they will encrust over each other. Looking forward to pics of the new stuff :)

I have about 3-5 inches between each frag and most of them are pointed outwards or away from each other so hoping the growth pattern works in my favour. Not sure how I will prevent them from encrusting into one and other... its nice they are all starting from frag size so at least I can track this or identify issues before they happen.

I am very interested to track the progress of the Vivid's Rainbow Delight. Its almost completely browned out right now and they are notorious for losing all color when they are fragged or shipped, however it has the potential to be almost as nice as Avengers or Orange Passion if I can color it to full potential. This one will be cool to see develop.

My vivids rainbow was brown for almost 2 months. It's now starting to show some purple! I'm very excited about this piece. I got a smoking deal on it also...my buddy has a very nice size colony!

Awesome Aj!!

Looking at those pics makes me tickle inside. I only see one problem though. You have some acros that table up top. When the start to grow they will table out. Will block light for anything under and also the acros that grow upwards won't have anywhere to grow.

Maybe give those a little move before they encrust on the rocks. Thanks for the inspiration Aj!!

I am not too worried about it. I have a ton of light for this build, too much really. I keep raising my light more and more. Which ones specifically are you referring to? The tapered rock ledges and staggered coral placement will likely help to avoid this. If not I can easily move and trim the growing colonies.

From the start the plan in this build was to constantly trim and frag these corals to create dense little micro colonies. Somewhere between the size of a Baseball and a Tangerine. Which should avoid this problem. Although maybe some colonies will be left to grow out large, my goal was to approach this like a bonsai tree in the sense that I will trim and control the growth patterns of the SPS to make tons of small colonies that resemble a large spread out reef from afar.

We will see how it goes... if for some reason it doesn't work I can always set up another display, plumb in a bigger frag tank, or just remove some of the less impressive collectors pieces.

I have gone a bit crazy on frags over past half a year, however I wanted to get as many frags in as I could all growing at the same time instead of having some colonies and some little nubs of a coral.

There are two more pieces I have at RR Canada on hold for me, then I will be done with coral for some time.

As expected, your tank looks absolutely awesome!! Good job!

Everything looks good here! Excellent work!

Thanks guys. It is coming along nicely. The increase in Zeo feeding with Xtra, CV and AAHC combined with raising the light has really improved some SPS color. Things were starting to lighten up too far for my liking a couple weeks ago.

I am relatively unhappy with my Bulb Combo at the moment. With 2x Coral + its too white. I plan on picking up 2x ATI Actinics and swapping out either one or both of the Coral + for these. Back when I used to run MH I was always a fan of 20K and I want to get back into that realm.

That's a pretty cool idea! I didn't know you were going for a garden type thing. That's a cool concept to keep everything trimmed up and have a crazy amount of variety. Can't wait to see it grow in!

In that case you have nothing to worry about. Looking good Aj

Thanks, all this is of course in theory. I guess time will tell. If nothing else hopefully I will make some money back selling frags of these crazy rare corals.

I just won't do it. I don't want the hassle and I don't want to deal with compromising the minimal aesthetic of a shallow big rimless reef.

I am seriously in love with your tank AJ, absolutely love it.

Thankyou. Means a lot. Congrats again on TOTM.

Good, size does matter .... in photographs anyway. :D Looks really good, but I wish the pic was even BIGGER.
