callmesaul8889
So today I met a guy today for some coral.. I got a piece of rock with two large Yumas.. each about 3 in diameter, and two baby yumas for $30, an orange monti cap for $5, and one small stalk of pom pom xenia for free. Then on the way home, I stopped to pick up my black PERCULA clown that I ordered. I actually ordered a black ocellaris, but when it came in, i found it out to be a percula.. I don't know what it is about black true percs, but i think they're ugly. not to mention, i informed the LFS that i needed either a large or a small fish, otherwise it would be the same size as my current clown and could cause some problems. well, of course, when i go to pick it up, it's the SAME size as mine now.. so they're at war, and i'm not sure what to do. anyways, here are some pics... Masterbuilder recommended to do 2 ati blue plus, 1 ge 6500, and then a bulb of your choice depending on what your looking for color wise on the t5 info thread. I know a lot of people do that, and there are a lot of pictures there. Link to comment

I know a lot of people do that, and there are a lot of pictures there. I've looked at those pics in the t5 info thread tons of times, i really like Travis's setup on the first page. he has 2 blue+, 1 super actinic and 1 fiji purple.. it's just a tad too blue for my liking... how are the aquasuns? theyre 10000k instead of 6500, so i think that would make everyhting a little more crisp, but not quite blue Link to comment
callmesaul8889
so i was moving my tank around, and decided to place my acan closer to the light... and something knocked it over into my frogspawn over the weekend while i was at home :'-( i think it's pretty much gone, although i've never killed a coral before, so i wouldnt know, it looks like butt tho Link to comment
bzphotog
ya I know how you feel, corals are very hardy when it comes to tissue rebuilding so it might work. leave it in there and monitor it. bzphotog Link to comment

bzphotog
your shrimp could be sensitive to water parameter changes, especially if it was during molting. And the coral might have been giving off some poison slime. lol i dunno just an idea. Link to comment
callmesaul8889
yeah, youre probably right, the shrimp molted right before i did a water change, and i think i had some undissolved salt in that batch as well. i didnt catch it until it was too late i gotta get a pic of my zoas. in like 3 weeks, theyve went from 6 polyps to 19 Link to comment
violinist
Sucks about the shrimp, but cool about the zoas Link to comment
callmesaul8889
not sure if you can see how many polyps there are... i turned the lights on to snap the picture so everything's pretty much closed up the poor acan that i lost :'( here's a pic of my cyano/diatom problem, which has gotten a million times better since i got my chemipure elite in the mail oh yeah, and my lil sexy biotch Link to comment
callmesaul8889
thanks! i can't wait until my diatom problem is gone, then i will feel confident taking FTSs again Link to comment
