probably not a good idea. i may just set up a tank to house them in until i'm ready to set up another reef tank.

Well...your pair can have the 20L if I still have it going.

see how it all pans out.

we'll see.

i may have just found some motivation to finish my little DIY AIO 20g I started on 6 months ago. it would make a great place to hold the fish for a little while.

Well since the forum went down, gotta repost this.... along with the past 13 days and the pics....lol.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being the first paid customer over @ Gulf Coast Reef.

I highly recommend Corpus locals swing by and drop some $$.

GCR has a quality selection, good pricing, and exceptional service.

3802 Saturn...way out Weber across from Bill's Casino.

They are still getting inventory, but the curent selection is outstanding.

Two large island tanks for main coral stock are super clean and the corals all look fantastic.

They have additional tanks set up for fish and are awaiting inventory.

Store hours for now....open Sat / Sun....spotty during the week.

Thier web site, not functioning as yet:

http://www.gcreef.com/

Swing by and show some support for a great up and coming LFS........

The tank is filling in nicely, love the rockscape in there. I got swing by that shop some time soon when I get a little spending cash. It's nice to see a more diverse market in the local community lately.

Sweet tank... I really like your scape and your overflow / return set up - looks pretty simple and straight forward. Best part is that it doesn't look like it takes up any real estate in the tank.

Thanks for the comments. I've used this type of overflow + return in 3 tanks now with no problems.

Plenty of surface movement, good flow within the tank...MP20 is only half way up.

Was an easy decision vs constructing or purchasing an "overflow box" and yes, it takes up little to no room.

Runs very quite, no flushing or burping.

Thanks again -

So today, I'm tyring a little experiment

Glass or bar mat, whatever ya wanna call it, some chaeto, rubberband.

The Chaeto Burrito

IMG_9838-Edit.jpg

I'll see how this plays out maintence wise. Idea is to provide a safe haven for pods. Seen other tanks with chaeto stuffed behind rockwork, but I wanted a little more control. And, I needed an excuse to get my hands wet.

Last WC...Sunday the 12th @ 5 gallons

Tanks stats for today:

Temp 80

SAL 1.026

KH 8

Calc 420

Ph 8.2

Mag 1350

Looks like a dosing regimen is in order

....notes to self.....

Adding 1.4 oz of alk to raise to 9-10

Adding 3.8 oz of Calc to raise to 460

This should also raise PH to ~ 8.3-8.4

Looks pretty complicated to me, jk. Hey Dave thanks for the tip on the new place. Just stopped by there today and scored some really nice acans and a sweet looking sps frag and my wallet didn't want to slap me afterwards either. Supernice establishment, and needles to say but almost surgically clean.

Ps. cheato burrito's make me kinda hungry!

Got the controller setup. Have a couple issues to work out, but was not difficult.

PH Probe seems to have settled in althought I will continue to do comparitive testing.

Overall, I like the functionality the RKL3 offers.

Today is WC day.

----note to self------

Alk had dropped from 10-8.

Had to dose 1.4 oz to bring back up. Keep eye on PH.

That's twice in a week for a total of roughly 2.5 oz.

Replaced Carbon 10 TBLSPN
