How much did it cost you?

I don't know if this thread is a repeat but I was curious.

How much did it cost for you guys/gals to set up your systems?

Here's what mine cost :

tank : $76

stand : $93

t5 fixture (24w X 4) : $116

4 ati bulbs (3 aquable special, 1 blue plus) : $78

koralia #1 : $70

HOB protein skimmer : $106

canister filter : $132

10kg (aprox. 22lbs) liverock : $63

total : $734

I live in South Korea so factored in the current Won to USD conversion rate. I was trying to save money by not setting up a sump but it's in the plans for the near future :D If I had to do it over I would have did more research, planned it out more thoroughly, and DEFINATELY planned for the future.

You paid the equivalent of $70 for a Koralia 1? I think I paid $30 for mine new. And I don't even know how much I have into my tank, probably somewhere between $1000-$1500 by now. Link to my tank in my sig.

DIY rules.

Majority of my tank was a diy. Most of my cost estimate is the corals in the tanks. Ohh and that cost was for my 29g tank and my 12g nano cube, sorry.

like I said I live in South Korea. The prices of some items over here are ridiculous! I guess that's what happens when you need to import most of the supplies. Middle men need to make their cut as well.

I wish I could DIY my equipement but buying tools and supplies end up costing the same. But next time... next time...

I guess it's possible to do on a budget ... and also possible to do on a large budget.

I'm a solana owner (all in one system) and the base system is about $800 USD, plus about that much over again by the time you put rock and livestock in it. I haven't quite hit double the cost of the base system but I will over the next 2-3 months for sure.

Isn't it crazy how much equipment costs here in Korea?

Filet, where in Korea are you?

It would be almost cheaper to fly to the States and get supplies/equipment!

I'm in Cheongju. How 'bout yourself?

yardboy, i have to say i'm a fan of your "ghetto" rigs.

after looking at your setup i've decided on installing a refugium.

i'm gonna use your rigs as a reference.
