hi... this is my first post

 

like 2 month ago i started a 14 BC... i was reading here and learnig a lot and i think that it is time to share my tank :lol:

I like your fish selection. I was thinking about a clown and a royal gramma for my tank but just getting everything squared away first. I think it could use a little bit more height to the aquascape. Off to a great start though.

hi, long time since my last post

i am using Seachem ... salifert=$$$$ :P

 

i did some mods

i want better filtration,

 

edit

i tried a refugium in the second chamber with caulerpa, but it died

now i am using filter floss, carbon and a phosphate pad under the carbon

this is what i did fot better filtration

tank looks good, I was wondering where you get your livestock from. I live in the caribbean and nobody will ship to me.

Hey finally, some Costa Rican power :D Where do you live firefish CR? I am from San Jose, looking to have people in Costa Rica that would like to stay in touch for this wonderful but expensive hobby, especially here in CR. B).

I have cousins in San Jose and my aunt and some other cousins live in Cartago

Ok sounds like a plan..I never even thought of looking at the pet stores when I was there, so much other great things to see :lol:

 

Royal grammas are great fish! lots of personality ;)

What kind of "phosphate pad" is that??? Doesn't seem to be holding them down very much... try using rowaphos or phosban, those would probably work much better, they kept my biocube at zero and I using the max recommended dose per gallon, but not too much to prevent my dKH from dropping. Are you running carbon too??

 

+1 on more rock, it needs it. Make sure you buy rock out of established, running tanks as to prevent a minicycle.

sorry the misunderstanding rotarymagic (I edit the post again to correct the misunderstanding )

i use this phosphate pad

i cut it in small squares (2*2)... and put under the carbon

now i run filter floss, carbon and phosphates pad

i originally draw this sketch to plan the filtration

now i have diatomea, i add a new live rock ( a dead rock )

i think that it cause a mini-cycle, this is the reason of the diatomea algae (i hope)

 

i want a frog spawn... i will see the next week
