hypostatic
I fed my black suns pellets all the time before dinos killed it. It would take as many as I would give it, as many times in a row as I would give it, I think one time I measured two tablespoons (!) in about an hour before it started spitting some back. I have no idea where it put all of it. OK. So the pellets I was previously using must've been cr*p. I've been feeding my tubastrea hikari marine S pellets and they've been really liking it Quote Link to comment

Kellysnano
A few weeks ago I was picking up some mysis cubes and when I got home I realized I had accidentally bought frozen mussel cubes. I figured I might as well chop them up (the pieces in the cubes were quite large) and try feeding them to my sun corals and dendros - turns out they LOVE the mussels! They have always opened daily and look nice, but the extension they get now is ridiculous! The mussels cubes will now be a staple in my frozen reef food stash. 1 Quote Link to comment
Shyla8
Anyone know who is selling dendros? Had one a while back and lost it in a long move. Id love to get another but can never find them. Quote Link to comment

Qckwzrd
Sorry for the dirty glass and crappy video skills. You can see the spawn floating to the top. This was right before the tank lights came on. 1 Quote Link to comment

basser1
I'd also check LiveAquaria Divers Den in their non-photosynthetic section. They occassionally will have some dendros for sale there. http://www.liveaquaria.com/diversden/CatDisplay.cfm?c=2733+10&siteid=20&ref=4282&subref=AI&cmpid=E-_-TR-_-DDN-_-PNPS I just checked e-bay and someone has a 1 polyp fat head dendro for $30, shipping is $55 though...... http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIVE-CORAL-WYSIWYG-Fat-Head-Dendrophyllia-NPS-/301724030809?hash=item4640275759 1 Quote Link to comment

Oneslowsaleen
Ooooo after going through this thread I am definitely joining the sun coral club . I can't get one for awhile cause my tank is less than two weeks old and still cycling, I found a black sun coral forsale and red chili I was thinking of calling my local LFS and see if they will hold it for a little bit, or am I jumping the gun? 1 Quote Link to comment
Qckwzrd
Black suncorals (tubastrea micrantha) tend to be difficult to keep. Quote Link to comment
Oneslowsaleen
Black suncorals (tubastrea micrantha) tend to be difficult to keep. What makes it harder to keep then other sun corals? Just out of curiosity . I'm not going buy a thing till my tank is fully setup and established I've decided. Quote Link to comment
Qckwzrd
They take longer to open for feeding, the tissue for them seems to recede pretty fast if not fed quickly. Quote Link to comment
Qckwzrd
I picked up two new suncoral colonies and a dendrophyllia head, will try and post pics soon! 1 Quote Link to comment
GoingPostal
I picked up another dendro polyp, smaller and more orange than the ones I have. They threw in a balano polyp plus a frag of black and yellow sun corals. They need some tlc, no surprise there but still super cool. I thought the yellows were goners at first but after killing an aiptasia in the middle of them they look 10x better. Blacks have only opened a little so far. 1 Quote Link to comment
