The biotopes forum is a place to discuss aquariums dedicated to simulating a specific regional aquatic environment. Some examples would include seagrass lagoons, tide pools, seahorse tanks, temperate marine, non-photosynthetic, and anemone tanks. Use this forum to discuss your biotope projects and their special needs.

For those considering starting a biotope aquarium, be sure to seek out help and advice to carefully plan your system. Biotopes are far less common in the hobby and some can require very specific equipment and water parameters. If you are considering collecting fish, corals, invertebrates, or even rock from a local body of water, first check your local laws as this may be illegal in many states/countries!
The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.
