TJ_Burton
Did you use black silicon to attach your acrylic overflow box? Is it sturdy and held well? It was to my understanding that silicon does not hold acrylic too well. Do anything special to assist in the bond? I'd love to know as I am trying to figure out my overflow box. Link to comment

Kirin1
Excellent plumbing, looks very clean&efficient. What size halides are you doing, and have you picked a ballast(s)? Link to comment
suppressive fire
i was planning 2 250 se and an electronic ballast (icecap, or coralvue something like that) but people seem thats too much and ill have heat problems so i may be going 2 175's but not sure. Link to comment

supahtim
you can see the black silicone in the second picture. the weight of the water pressing against the overflow box usually holds it in place for quite a few years. nice looking setup! what do you plan on keeping? Tim Link to comment

You could always do the 250s and just hang em high. If you're doing a DIY hood to match the stand it may take some ingenuity, but you could mount the reflectors on a board, then suspend the board from the top of the hood w/a pair of pendant hanger kits. I dunno if that'd be practical for you or not, just a thought... Edit: looked closer at stand pics, and it seems like it's stand and hood all in one, w/out much room to raise/lower lights. suppressive fire
the stand is like an all in one and the MH lighting and has 9-12 1/2inches off the water adjustment. Link to comment
Kirin1
I don't have personal halide experience, but that seems like a fair amount of adjustment space, maybe someone more experienced can chime in here... Link to comment
