This is one of the best scapes I have seen!!!!!

Ever!!

Wow! Thank you, I never expected that. I appreciate it!

sweet rockscape! I also have a 20 long that i'm setting up so I'm definitely going to follow. Your corals are beautiful too!

Thanks! If you have any questions about the 20 long or my setup just let me know.

Really nice set up! How do you find the powerheads? I'm going to set up a 20L soon, just wondering what kind of movement works best.

The powerheads are pretty good! I also bought a koralia 2 (600 gph) but it was too powerful for my likings. If I had a chance to do it again I would have probably went with a MP10 but I can't say I'm not happy with the koralias. I the 2 425's toward of the back of the tank so the front and sides below the PH's are Medium/low flow areas. I plan to do mostly LPS so I think config works pretty well for right now. The center of the tank is higher flow with the rockwork closer to the light for SPS in the future.

Nice scape!

I like the pic's, too... :D

Thanks, I really wanted a cave type scape so I'm happy it came out good. The photos where taken with my D80.. but now I really want a macro lens...

Why do all these threads remind me of other expensive toys I need to buy???

Awesome news though, I'm still looking at ato units and havent really made up my mind yet.

I know the feeling... It was between the JBJ, reef-freak and the Tunze for me. With with all the shopping around and research the Tunze seems to be the best. The only thing I don't like is the fact that if you unplug it and plug it in again it runs for the default time (even if the water level is fine). Even with that my salinity stayed exactly at 1.026 :)

What features made you pick the Tunze over the JBJ?

I travel out of the country a lot and I couldn't risk the float getting stuck and killing my tank and flooding my house when I'm not home.

Also there is a significant price difference but when I factored in pump came with Tunze it made it more attractive.

I also like the Tunze has both the optical and float for safety.

The fact that everyone that had one said it is on of the best things they have ever bought also helped!

How's your frogspawn/hammer frag doing? I think mine has a new head coming out already.

Good, It hasn't had any growth but it is expanding larger now (It barely came out before). I have only had it for about 3 weeks. Everything else is taking off though, my Candycanes and Duncans are sprouting new heads and my Zoas are spreading too. Just got a maxi mini yesterday from Barrier.

I was there on Wednesday for water, looked at the corals but nothing wowed me for the price. They had just received their shipment.

They may have some new stuff today as well.

Livestock update :D

I went to the LFS over the weekend and got a few goodies:

People eaters Palys

Eagle Eye Zoanthids

A teeny tiny Rose Bubble tip that was damaged in one of the pumps at the LFS.

I will try and get pics later...

I think I saw that anemone at the LFS, if you got it there.

I almost bought some Zoa frags this weekend... ugh! should've done it, they had some nice ones

In for the pics!

Yup, that was him! I really hope I can bring him back, Brad (coral dude at barrier) told me he got sucked into the intake and he didn't think he was going to make but he pulled through. I fell in love with the people eaters (not sure which variety they are though) they have orange skirts but maroon/purple bodies with a green mouth. What kind of Zoas did you see this weekend? I think I might grab one of the orange palys before they sell out.

Not sure what they were called but they were green and blue. Wifey was saying to get them but I was hesitant.

Did you get water from them this week or do you mix your own?

Link to comment

I mix my own. I don't trust their water.. I asked them about the system and they didn't know much. I do know it is RO without DI (not sure what their maintenance schedule is on the filters but I don't trust it with the volume they sell) that runs through a carbon prefilter. Do you know how often they change filters? Did you ever test their TDS?
