Ghost
Before I get to pics and stocking, just a quick thanks to everyone's posts and advice on the site. NR is a wealth of knowledge for any newcomer and the best source I've found yet. Cheers. So far so good. I lost two peppermint shrimp, for which I can only blame myself. I believe I acclimated them too quickly. Aside from that water parameters have remained in check and everyone has been healthy and active. Upcoming plans for the tank (short term and long); metal halide lights, auto top off and a skimmer mod. Stock: 36lbs Jakarta live rock 10 Nassarius snails 11 Hermit crab 1 Emerald Crab 1 Money Cowrie snail 3 Snails (turbo and other) 1 Black Ocellaris clown 1 True Perc clown 1 Star polyp 1 Birds nest 1 Xenia 3 types of zoas 1 Red tuxedo Urchin 1 Blue linckia star 1 pom pom crab Green/Purple ricordea 3 Blue Knuckle hermits Red Macro algae Blue/purple mushrooms Link to comment
Nanobuds
like the blue starfish pic! also nice tank! how old is it? Link to comment
Ghost
Thanks. The tank is under three months old, but cycle time was very quick because the rock was all added at once, it was already cured and the cycle time was extremely quick. Been testing every day/other day and everything has looked good. The left over food is quickly consumed by CUC and a massive population of amphipods. And I'm sure it helps (the tank and its mates) that I've been spending more time on NR than with my wife. The only concerns right now; 1. The number of hydroids appearing on the glass. I'm having to scrape them almost daily. Any ideas on how to rid them? 2. A small population of (drawing a blank on the name right now) white coil shaped pests in a certain area. I've read that they are a bad pest. 3. A few awol nassarius snails. 4. Warding off my wife's constant barrage of 'Ooh that's pretty can we get that right now?' questions everytime we're at the lfs. If she was mother nature, this planet would crumble tomorrow. But it would be financially sound. Link to comment

rahorman
How is your tuxedo urchin? I love mine, and think it is most definitely one of the cooler things in my tank. I don't have any coral yet, except some small radioactive green dragoneye zoanthids, but I heard that they will eat other types of coral? Link to comment
