    Ouch. That's quite a shadow. Are you using par bulbs?
    I cut the brace off of my 50 Breeder over a year ago to get rid of that problem. I blocked so much light from my 250W MH. Not the safest route but no problems as of yet.

    what if you removed the brace and glued down a plexiglass strip to act as reinforcement?

    ...hmmmm yeah 250watt here too, not cutting shit tho. had no problem with my t5's. going back to t5 or maybe led to eliminate the problem or 2 mh bulbs one on ea side of brace. when just the t5's are on you cant even notice. plus its kinda a joke around here so for now we keep the shadow. Lol

    I have an Osaka aquarium with a glass brace...no such problem. Just glue a glass brace in there and you will have a safe tank and no shadow.
    +1 I cut the brace out of my tank and replaced with plexiglass. Worked just fine!
