I'm looking to get L/R within the next week so I can finally set my 12g AquaPod up. I was looking at the L/R nano package from Liveaquaria but was unsure of it's quality and such. The price seems reasonable though, I think it'll come out to about $100 shipped to CA. I called up Marty at aquariumarts.com and talked with him. He said he'd recommend and could ship me 12lbs. of Fiji premium L/R along with 4lbs. of Fiji premium L/R branches which sounds like a good idea, all for $120 shipped via FedEx overnight. More than I was expecting to pay, but he sounds like he has a good operation there. I wanted to originally get from a LFS but the ones around here seem to have crap for L/R or stuff that's not even fully submerged which of course is no good.

quick question...

Most times, reefers outside of CA is so jelous of reefers in CA, cause they get the brightest colored colrals, nice healthy fish, and amazing selection. I am in east coast, and all I can do is drool over websites such as atlantis and others in CA. Why don't you just pick nice rocks at LFS?

It's funny you say that, because have yet to find nice L/R at LFSs near me. That or it's just boring looking uncured stuff. I'm not quite too sure what to look for in L/R though, but one of the LFSs has chunks IN the tanks (curing?) but pieces are exposed to the open air UNsubmerged. mellow.gif

Thanks for the link! Still looking around for places for Live Rock and have a couple email inqueries pending. I think I might go with the Aquarium Arts deal, but still not sure yet...

I've read people saying to stay away from MarineDepot's nano L/R pack, how is Liveaquaria's in comparison?

This is the only thread I could find with AquariumArts in the title... I know this thread is old but has anyone ever used them?

The rock and detail they go to on their site is 2nd to none. I really want to order from them but need to hear from someone that has done it before.

^^Ditto.

I ended up getting my LR from them Jbobaloo.

Definitely recommend them. The rock is great. You can see it in my tank thread.

Thanks for the update Bill. I saw your rocks... it seemed like you were sort of unhappy with them.. being that they didn't have as much coralline agae as some of the ones pictured on the website? But it also looked like you had a fairly short cycle too...
