chris,
I am considering buying a 24g. NC because I like the dimension better than the AP. I was wondering if picking the tank up instead of shipping would "fix" the cracking issue. I guess my question is are most of the cracking nano cubes ones that were shipped and thus the cracking was merely to be blammed on the shipper?

would you pick it up from the JBJ manufactureing facility? if you picked it up from anyone else it would have been shipped to them

i would pick it up from nanocustoms, I was just wondering if maybe when JBJ shipped them they used a different shipper or maybe just shipped them "better."

I'm willing to bet that Chris takes more care in shipping than JBJ, I seem to recal seeing pictures in a thread of a tank that he had sent, and it was packed well, although I could be thinking of someone else. However if you picked it up you would get it faster I'll bet and it would probably be a bit easier for chris as well.

um, look for scratches too - mine had some small scratches which seem to be reflecting more light than they used to, which makes me think they are growing....
jbj actually told me they often get 'scratched' during the extrusion of the glass curve - talk about crap quality control and they are proud to admit it! - nonetheless im still running my second nano24 [first was replaced] - but I worry about it.

We're fortunate here at nanocustoms, because we have the units delivered by JBJs own in house, delivery service.
We then take alot of care to pack and protect the units. Even though it costs a bit of money (about 12 dollars) in packaging materials, we feel it's worth every penny.
We have lost a few units due to rough handling, but in general, most units arrive in great condition.
Hope this helps
Chris
ps. We also offer will call in the southern california area. Just choose will call, and you will get a google map to our facility.

I wasn't trying to suggest that nanocustoms didn't pack well. I was just asking because I thought maybe JBJ sent them to nanocustoms through a seperate service like chris says.
I'm sure the cube would be fine if I had it shipped but the drive isn't too bad and I can stop at a few of my favorite fish stores along the way.
thanks chris
