Llamaguy
When will there be another contest? I want to do a pico, but want to participate in a contest so I don't want to start now, unless I'd have to wait a long time, 4+ months.
Fishfreak218
your prob. going to have to wait a long time, but thats JMO
Casabubu
I think these contests are great! It makes a killer excuse to start a tank! I personally would like to see many more of these contests.
snowlancer2720
right up there with you guys, i missed the pico contest and started one anyway! give me another reason to get yet another tank!
Theturtleclub
I would like to see a 5.5 contest this time maybe.
Smada77
A 10gallon AGA contest would be wild.

It would be the PERFECT excuse for me to set up a tank at work (that way the lady won't see all what I put into it! laugh.gif )
rickjg
I vote for a Patron Pico contest, lots of shots & then the build, if you can still stand.

fwiw, 10g systems could cost more than the nc6. not necessarily so though.

dickie's an unusual specimen of nature so he doesn't count. tongue.gif

btw dickie, just send me those frags now before you go on you 2-week vacation (i.e. coral-reef death sentence).

at least they won't die and you'll get to see them every now and then when i post pics of them. laugh.gif
pheallox
Theme contest one for only sps, one for lps, one fish only, one only softies and so on with rules being limits on light and total size something like 5-24 only total sump+tank and others depending on what is keeped.
calvin415
What about a complete DIY contest w/ no water limit?
Maeda
Oh man. calvin415 that would just be detrimental to the community.

We'd all go broke and have to sell our computers to pay for salt and RO/DI.

Agreed. I think a 5.5 aga or a 10 aga would be sweet.

I need an excuse for an office tank! Let's do this!
MadTownMax
Rick J G - I'm all about a Patron and Build - and I'm ready to start NOW

Hmmm - maybe we should determine a better set of rules for a contest (or at least how long the judging takes) before starting the next one biggrin.gif
NanoGal13
if theres a 10g contest, i dunno, lol, i remmeber, i bought a 2.5g and stuff for th contest, just to see that the entry deadline was 2 days before! mad.gif i suppose a 5.5g would be nice, there not too expensive, i have been beging my aunt to set up a SW tank at her office (this way, she can consider it hers, and she can pay for it, and all i have to do is check up on it, and making sure shes doing her part) biggrin.gif yes, a 5.5g zoanthid garden, maybe a single clown (just so the litle kids can all stare and call it "nemo" mad.gif darn kids.
andykee
i vote for a 5.5g aga contest. use as many as you want (tanks that is), but they all have to be 5.5g. best complete setup wins.
Tigahboy
I love these contests. I'd be down for 5.5g AGA.
lgreen
10g would be nice.

i want to do a 10g w/ only NO fluorsecent bulbs

or 5 gal would be cool

maybe you could do 5.5g aga, 5 g eclipse hex, and NC 6 all together in the same contest.
icenine
...maybe an open contest, 10 gallon and under.

...or maybe something for nano reefers to really show off with, like a biotope contest.
Ricky@3rdshift
I have been looking locally fr a 5.5 gallon tank and keep coming up empty handed. This cntest would be cool but I think the 10 gallon would be better.

Im up for a 10g aga
andykee
10g = too expensive.
you have less real estate to work with in a 5.5g, so in addition to needing less in terms of corals to "fill it", coral selection will be more crucial. plus it will allow more people to enter the contest. that's just my opinion though.

me too!
FLIPbmw
A contest that tries to create the best illusion of "larger than it seems". like a 5.5g stocked with tiny frags that would make you think the tank was 50gallons not 5. This would make choosing the right rock work and corals curtial.

Or a 3 species dominated tank

Wall corals. Get a piece of acrylic to fit inside for the back. Then you would cover the acryic piece in glue and laydown rubble and sand so you can layer stick corals to it. Corals would grow and cover the whole back and 1 live rock just to fill space.

Biotope would be sick.

Same.. bio-tope would be awesome.. but nothing to tiny.. maybe like 10g. or something but not pico sized...i think 10g. would be a good size3 for a bio-tope.. or maybe no limits except it cant be bigger then X amount of gallons
Carl_in_Florida
Tagging along, I would like a 5.5 contest
sandlot13
oh man, please please please do a new contest! a 10 gallon would be tight, or even a 5.5 gallon..... but lets not start it till this summer when I get home please.... think about a May 25th start time how bout?
aussieboy
Can i join if im in australia?
we dont have AGA's tho
ereefer
I missed the bus on the last contest, I was very disappointed. I want in and I want a contest soon. I am ready to go! 10g, 5g,2g, or 1g. I am a little over enthusiastic but let's go already! biggrin.gif

^ I'm for one of those.
Xytrix01
tidepool tank! Not a surge tank like tigah's, but a full tidepool where the thing actualy has to drain and stay that way for a while... Or an open contest so I can use that idea for myself!

Yes please!
FateX9
im with ereefer
i missed the last one cause classes this semester kinda sucked
but im deffinately down for the summer
i'd say a aga 10g
Grantlington
im in australia too. would love to be a part of another contest.

Aussie boy i think you would just have to get the square tank equivelant(spelling?) and just make sure the litres match up to the US gallon
aussieboy
Yeh i was just at the LFS today, one of those little 12" cube's you mean? they where only $20
Tony
I would say that a 5.5 contest would be good but it should have a volume allowance of at least +/- .5 gallons to allow for tanks other than AGA. The tank I would want to use is a 20.1L glass cube. The one thing I think I've figured out is that pics win contest, So I might be upgrading my camera in the event of another contest.
ereefer
I will buy a membership to this site and post more if we can get a new contest! Who's with me that hasn't already bought a membership? I want to get in on a new contest..... SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can we get this ball rolling.... Moderators???

I saw one here in Las Vegas, 7.5 gallon cube, 12" square - looked like fun to me. An open, 10g or under category would rock smile.gif
adinsxq
prizes cost money smile.gif

Ooh, I have a novel, never-before-used idea - everyone donate a dollar! Yeah!

It's GENIUS!

I would be up for a contest....

Who cares about prizes that much? I will buy a membership, who else will???
Maybe an entry fee??? Come on get this ball rolling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tony
If prizes are out then maybe a few people could work out some details for a friendly contest and put it together. Some one could moderate the entries and deadlines or whatever. I think it would be cool have a single open category contest, tanks .5 to 20, but to have a species specific theme wealther it be a members favorite coral, fish, invert whatever they choose to go with.
sleepy
I also would be willing to make a donation, or pay an entry fee to enter a contest. Again 10 g aga would be nice =)
