I can't believe it either. Apart from those that have confirmed that they've dropped out there are still far too many that haven't posted anything at all recently.

Come on people, please update your threads so that we can see how your tanks are doing.

I'm still in, but I've been on christmas break and haven't had the chance to update - a lot has changed!

Well i'm trying to decide whether I'm in or out... the 2.5 is still up and I have pictures so i guess i'll stay in.. I'll post them tonight.. I've been having problems with my zoos and GSP.. they closedup and were attacked by like 50 coepopods... some zoos didn't survive...

Whats the point of posting when no one is looking at your thread. If my new 20 gets set up and ready before the end of the contest, I'm bailing out. I dont have a shot in hell of winning anyways. We shall see.

what are you talking about, tony? i haven't checked you thread today but the last post was about your crab ditching his pompom's, right?

the contest forum isn't really frequented by the masses (maybe too buried? or too many layers/forums?). but i think the contestants are looking over each others' shoulders. it's quite interesting imo.

it's not just about showing off your tank but picking the brains of others and applying it to your application (present or future).

i'm also going to stop/giveaway/sell my tank after this contest to apply to another tank but i hope you (or others) don't quit midway.

What I mean is that a contender like ZooGorl not only has a great looking tank and great pics, but also looks like she has the majority vote. Another problem is that I am a contarctor at the place I work ( where the tank is ) and they are begining to get ready to move there Facility so the tank will have to go. I will be one of the last to leave and that wont happen for 2 to 3 months but i cant keep the tank at my house due to high heat issues. We will see what happens but for now everything in the tank is better off where its at, so I stay in.

Thanks for the compliment Tony, I really appreciate it! But I certainly wouldn't say I'm the favorite or have the majority vote. We still have two more months and in that time who knows how these tanks will change and what will happen. At this point I feel like anyone could win. Honestly your tank is one of my favorites! I don't want you to drop out! Ya know, I look at everyone's tank and think about the ones I like and I feel the competition. Really though for me this is more about setting up a tank with a timeline and restrictions and seeing what I can do with that. Usually I don't work well with rules but this is turning out to be fun! Don't drop out Tony!

Well for me this contest is just for fun. I mean im practically broke and only have three corals!!! Im lovin this contest though because I get to see all these different things people could do with there 2.5. I must say, Tony and Ann, both of your tanks are looking great.

On another note.... this contest ends in 2 months?!?! I thought it ended in three! I had better get some coral!

Quiting is not in my current plans. I entered for the fun of it, winning has never been that big of a deal.

its sad to see all the people that dropped out (though im sure they had good enough reasons to drop out) I wish i would have had the resources to enter this contest in the first place!!!! if i hadnt just set up my 10 gallon in my dorm room i would have done this in a heartbeat........ consider you contestants lucky! This is my first stop at nr.com eeveryday, becuase not only do you get updates almost every day from someone, but you get a great deal of ideas/knowledge! keep up the good work everyone, even if we arent commenting we are watching!

I am most certainly reading, and enjoying, each and every thread. So everybody please keep at it, I am learning a lot from you all.

There are so many great tanks in this competition, for me it's impossible to choose a winner. A lot can change in 3 months too (the competition is due to finish on the 31st March as far as I am aware), the tanks will be more mature and corals will have grown in.... at least that's what I'm counting on. If my zoas don't fill in a bit more I'm stuffed.

I should still be around untill the end of March. One of my initial fears of entering the contest was that the company I'm working for was going to close there doors before the end of the contest.

I'm thinking of dropping out because my plans for after the contest have changed and certain things in the tank will need to have a new home found for them.


Plus the incosistency of the tank has been annoying.

hmm, true zoogirl's got a pretty firm grip...on the contest but melbourne's entry looks pretty good too.

i'm kinda wanting to make changes too but i'm just saying we should hang in there until the finish just for the spirit of the contest. i think the main thing for most is the exchange of ideas like the others noted.

i wouldn't worry about the leads or wins, you showed and you competed. that counts.

btw if your company closes up prior to the contest i would think the judges/mods would still factor your situation. it wouldn't be a crash or anything like that imo. hang in there everyone.

It is sad to see so many people dropped. I'm still in, and I love my little tank! I hope I have some chance of winning, but even if I don't, I had a great time and got a chance to do somthing that I otherwise wouldn't have considered.

Tiny's got a decent point, if you can stay in, you might as well as it doesn't hurt anything.

I wish I was still in... 2 tank cracks & a too-slow siphon overflow... Then couldn't build the DIY acrylic one fast enough for final entry

I'm in for the duration. This tank is nothing but fun. It's Pico Gone Wild!
I started w/ a frag of 5 mushrooms. Now I've got 10. My Mojano hitch hikers (2) are now 3. I've actually had to thin down some stuff. The little rock crab HH has molted 2 times.

Nothing but fun!

Im still in. I havent updated in a while though. My tank doesnt look terrible either. Having a red(gracileria?) algea problem, and a major salt creep/slow leak problem. I hope to still make three more months...I think it will.
