Wow, I bought that same tank, did you go to petsmart? I couldn't believe they only had acrylic at mine...
Tony
Nov 3 2005, 09:18 PM
I did get it at petsmart it was actually the only place that had a 2.5 tank.

Same here, Petsmart was the last place I wanted to spend my money, but I called everywhere else within 30 minutes and no one had a 2.5

Save some laughter for when you see it set up, with some of the incredible tank I've seen on this forum I'm not sure if my lack of experience can produce anything but comic relief. My hope is that this will help me gain some experience and just have some fun.

18w coralife but does not allow for any kind of legs so I'm going to use the Current 18w when it arrives.

nice rockwork.. does your yellow finger ever come out at all?
Tony
Nov 9 2005, 05:41 PM
I've had it for about 2 months now and it's been in full bloom everyday that I've had it but usually only after the lights go out. I hope it does well in it's new tank.

My Gorgonian is opening after adding it to my contest tank, I will post new pics later this week.

Those gorgonians are so beautiful, I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of it with its polyps extended. How often are you feeding it and with what? I'd love to try keeping one of those or similar but am always off by their difficulty in care.
The tank's looking good.

Best regards
Ann

I am not really one to ask about coral care as I dont have very much experience but since you ask I occasionally ( onece a week or so) feed DTS while it's open and thats it. I've been using B-Ionic and dont suppliment anything else.
So I just bought a colored feather duster today and it came out of its tube completeley by the time I got to work. Will it surrvive?
And I also picked up two little Pom Pom crabs today. One of which I think has an egg cluster.

Thanks for the comments, It looks really good when fully open.
I'm a little worried about my lack of experience ( almost none ) in keeping corals. Any helpful tips on care and feeding would be nice as I would like to keep them healthy.
Still searching for some cool frags but its hard finding stuff I like small enough for a 2.5.

One of my Pom Pom crabs anemone's split I think. He's got a new one and the old one is free floating in the tank.

Playing with a co workers camera trying to get some better pics. Heres a good one of the 1 armed Pom ad his new anemone. He's not shy at all and spends a lot of his day in your face.

Still working on taking better pics but here's some of the newer stuff and a FTS. I'm not sure about the placement of some of the frags but I'm tired of putting my hands in the tank for now.

It's almost a shame that this tank will be comming down after the contest. It seams to me that things are growing exremely fast but it could just be my imagination since I've never really kept corals until now.
Looking good!

It's not my first tank but the first time I've really tried keeping corals. I have a 20 gallon at home which I sarted about 1 year ago and tried keeping a few things but with the unexpected crazy heat in my NON- air conditioned house ( and no chiller )nothing was going to survive so my experience with corals is pretty much nill.
I got that Yuma at mermaid aquarium in Fremont, Ca., but I prefer going to Atlantis aquarium in Fremont for Yumas.

is it me or are there no FTS besides the first page? nice corals. what am i saying, i love all your corals.
Tony
Dec 13 2005, 04:42 PM
Here's a FTS for you. Some things need to be moved a little, secured, and I'm still thinking about placement. The red Mushroom is partially attached to a live muscle and is constantly being disturbed ( not sure what to do ).
Sorry for the poor quality pic.
