i didnt like how the original hood worked out so i plan to make one.
i dunno, we'll see how it goes.

thanks every1. the lighting is still only 18watts 50/50. bulb coming in soon,so it'll finally be 36watts.

the colors of the corals look like crap in the first pic.

what's that little pinky thing? in the tank.

it looks like a flower petal. i'd guess a pink shroom since i can't see overt tentacles. very interesting color morph though.

if its the lil pink thing in the sand, its a sun coral polyp. a friend at the lfs gave it to me. it hasnt opened since i got it. been trying to feed it but it's on a hunger strike i guess.

what are those fist thingies on top of the hood?

here's a pic of my pico after being gone for 5 days. i had my sister top it off everynight. other than that she did nothing to it. a couple things need to be put back in their place. and i have to clean the algae. other than that its all good still.

This tank is so nice. I really like how you've positioned the corals, the mushroom grouping on the right hand side is perfect.

Excellent coralline growth too, how do you get it to grow so well? Are you dosing Ca etc??

I like my tank but it is a ton of algae maintance every weekend to keep it in check It has a nice wild look but a pain-- and it all grew from the LR..
I was in Monroe La just a week ago at a Lan party... We are fairly close neighbors , I presently live in Miss (Brandon)
Do you have a good LFS??

thanks again for the comments. i havnt dosed this tank at all. just water changes. i will get a pic of the coralline growth in my 6.6g, its crazy how much there is in it.
izzue, i didnt cook the LR. i have an ac20 "fuge" with some macro that stays lit 24-7. i guess that helps w/ the bad algaes. as well as the waterchanges. i do have a little bit of algae in the display,but its not too bad. as for the LFS in the area, i have been to a couple of stores near new orleans that were nice. i live closer to baton rouge so i usually go to "something fishy" or "marks". if you dont have much there i think it would be worth it to check out the shops near new orleans.

greenbar is doin great. dropped in a frag of pink zoas that i got at the louisiana reef club meeting. frogspawn, candycanes, and sun polyp all eating mysis well. wish the sun polyp would come out during the day but oh well.

nice shots and pieces! i like that last post shot of the purple zoos and it's spreading mat. great job!

the Sargassum grew from a piece of LR.slow at first, but now its doin good.
in other news... i have been tearing a bathroom out of my bedroom. seems that i got a lil too rough changing the floor out yesterday. some of my stuff had fallen behind most of the rockwork. i have lost stuff back there before, but this was too much. so, i tried to get a piece and,of course, messed my rockwork up a bit. everything is about the same, just leaning and unstable. i will deal with this today. gonna get before and after shots.

well, i just got through fixing the rockwork. pita. rearranged alot. took out the big candycane. just too big. will get shots up as soon as everything opens.
