oogie, what do you use to frag your SPS? I tried those big kitchen scissors but they didnt do anything at all.

Some people use their hands if they can. It is supposed to be easier on the coral.

For if I want to split a huge colony in half, hammer and chisles seem to work the best. If I want to frag a little piece, then I usually use some stainless cutting plier so I can frag in-tank.

Bonecutters work well too.
Arnt you worried about space? 10+ sps in a 6g seems like it will fill really quick.

Maxvan1: Actually I am worried about space. Looks like if everything works out, I will be fragging alot! LOL
Rick J G: LOL cool pic! What makes me wild? I am just a cello nerd!
I just took a pic of pink prostrata I got from Tigah because it looked really hairy after lights came on today.
Thanks
Travis
Sep 8 2005, 05:52 PM
Yeah, my Prostrata get's REALY hairy at night. I think that is because at night, it uses the polyps as a way to eat nutrience in the water more than it does during the day.

hey oogie, GREAT TANK!! I didn't know people can do so many mods to such a little tank
How did you make the first hole for the bulkhead? I know you used a diamond bit to continue the little one, but I just don't have a clue how did you make the first one (I hope I've explained myself clear

)
Thanks!

Have you noticed any extra polyp extention due to the zeovit yet?I'm thinking that it will probably take a while to get results from it?

Zeovit is great! Everything was coloring up! Everything was doing great!
Why am I using "was" insted of "is"?
Something I feared has happend. MY NC6 CRACKED!!!!!
And worst part is............
I wasn't home to save my sps collection.
I can deal with losses except for 2 things.
1. Oregon Tort
2. Eddie's Purple Monster.
I don't think I will be able to ever replace them.
SIGH...................
So, I am out!
Seems like we should have made this competition, who can keep NC6 longer!

I'm sorry for your loss. This tank showed me why people like SPS so much. It was a sweet tank. Thanks.
Oh, how awful. So sorry to read about your tank cracking, it was looking so great too.

Best regards

NO, not another cracked tank!!!
I hope everyone on Nano-Reef feels your pain.
I think this contest should be voided completely.
Far to many contestants have lost their tank & livestock.
Down with Nano-Cubes
Down with JBJ
Sledgehammer party at my office tomorrow, smash the 6!!!

I'm going to have to put your boycott jbj link back in my sig.
Your entry was outstanding... the winner so far, imo. I am so glad I did not buy one of these.
Sorry you lost those corals. ..at least this will be another nail in jbj coffin. Hopefully no one else will suffer the crappy product they produce. jbj is doing so much more harm than good for this hobby.

OK. Here is my offical Contest entry post. As you can see in this thread, my NC6 busted so I will post pictures until that moment.
Here is my humble official entry photo. You can already see custom overflow I made on the left-top of the back divider.

Here is picture of hole being drilled on the back for the return to sump.

Here is pic of bulkhead installed.

Here are some pics of hood being modded.

Here is pic of some bondo applied. This is before it was sanded down.

Here is pic of hood sanded and painted black.

Here are some pics of the SCWD plumbing.

Here is shot of the sump area.

ashburn: Hmmm, tad too long? LOL
Here is my first addition to my tank. My LFS had huge beautiful piece and I noticed two sections where it looked like it broke off. So I asked owner, if I can buy the pieces that broke off if they had it and he gave it to me for $20. I guess I am lucky!!!!

Thanks!
oogie,
How did you glue those frags on the stone? I am assuming that you left the stone in the water?
And, what is the glue?
Thanks.
