I'm setting up a 42 gallon with a twenty gallon sump and don't know which swc skimmer model to get. Will a swc xtreme 120 handle a heavy bioload or should I jump to the swc 160?

160 man, for an extra 40$ you can do w/e the hell you want in that tank.

thank you I was leaning that way but its nice to get reassurance

biggrin.gif , im trying to save to get the 120 for my 20L, but ill probably go with the 160 due to future upgrade plans . These skimmers are pretty nuts, my lfs runs the 160 and the largest model(forgot #), DAMN they put up massive amounts of bubbles.

yeah all the videos i see of this skimmer are really impressive. I want the option to upgrade in the future too so 160 it is! I can't wait! I have been running a 29g biocube skimmerless for a long time now. I want to see this thing do its work on the new system and take some work off my shoulders.

Make sure you have enough space, in case you have alot of other equipment in the sump. I went with the SWC-120 (which I love) and it is way bigger than I thought. Mines is in a 10 gallon sump... I don't think a 160 would have fit in mine.
