I can't see to keep a constant temp in my 24 & 28gal Nanos so I am in the market for a good chiller for each of the tanks. My temps can go from 75 to 84 during the afternoon. The tanks are in a finished basement with airconditioning. My 28gal Nano is running Metal Halide and the 24 is running flourescents but I am looking at upgrading the lights. I have tried putting fans on the tank but that is a pain and does not work that well.

So I am asking for honest feedback on chillers I can get to run in these tanks.

Thanks

What is the brand/model of your thermometer, and what is the wattage of the heater?

Did you set the heater's temperature setting based on the numbers on the dial or a thermometer? Heater dials can't be trusted to be always accurate. Also, you should set the temperature closer to the maximum (like maybe 80º) to create a smaller swing. Temperature stability is more important than achieving a specific temperature, as long as the temperature is within a decent range 76-83° F.
