hey everyone I just purcased a jbj A.T.O and I was wondering what type of pump everyone uses for their A.T.O's beause I'm not sure which one to purchase. I would prefer that I can get one that I can have a 5-6 foot tube so I can hide my fresh water resevoir. Is this even possible? I know I sound like a newb and I'm sorry, I just wanna make sure I get a pump that can work for me. Thanks for the help guys

I don't know if a aqua lifter pump can push and pull water 5-6 feet.
But I'm sure it can do it for 4+ feet.
I have a 36''ada style stand and a 60p on it (14'' tall)
that's a total of about 50'' and the pump works fine.

The aqualifter is a slow drip at 4 feet. It will work but you will have to set the timer inside the ato all the way up and even then it might take to long before you trigger the float. It will depend on the height. I use the aqualifter but it is only a couple of feet to the tank and I have a diy ato without a timer.

A buddy of mine has two aqualifters in line and he says it works great. Tops off with kalk water so has to clean the pumps I think he said about every 3 months or there about.
I actually have not looked with detail how they are setup but they sit right next to each other so I guess a short line from one to the other is about it and a double outlet plugged into the controller.
He said it is better as the pump he used before dumped too much water at one time for a nano.

a friend of mine uses an mj900 or 1200 as his top off pump on his jbj ato
his only pumps around 3' though but it works well

I use the mj900 because my water resevoir is in the bottom of my BC29 stand. The water has to go 5 ft.. The key to deciding on what pump to use is to determine how far the pump has to push the water and go from there.
