Does anyone have any opinions/experience with the nutrient transport mode ? I just got mine up and
running today and it looks good, but is it beneficial ?

one of my 10's runs in ntm 24/7. It definitely keeps trash suspended long enough to get sucked up by the filter. Be sure to follow the steps of setting an 'auto-tuned' wave first; ntm will access that wave for the short pulse portion of the cycle. This way you'll have wave action in your tank part of the time, and nice laminar flow the rest of the time.

i just got my mp40 ES today which replaced a Hydor Evo 1400gph in my 75. I set it straight to 100% NTM and it was a storm of detrius and fish poo. I was suprised how much flow my tank lacked. I'd say NTM is very beneficial and in my opinion a close second Reef crest.

If u just have one mp10 es can you still run those modes, or do you have to have more then 1?

thanks.

you can still run ntm but i think the instructions say its better to have a master pump and then slave pump.

yes you can run them, but to get maximum benefit out of the new modes you need at least two pumps as stated in the vortech manual.

Hmm. According to the manual it looks like you have to have 3 of them to really get it to function as they intend. I'm not sure that you would get a 400 dollar or more value by adding 2 more pumps just to assess that mode. Especially in a 34 gallon nano tank...

You say you can run that mode with only 1 pump, but you don't get the "maximum benefit" without 2 or more pumps. I'm curious how that works. (ie - if you don't get the "maximum benefit" then you really aren't able to run that mode. So I"m curious what the pump does with just one pump compared to reef crest. )

I've only had my MP10es for a few days....but when running NTM with only 1 pump it goes short pulses for a few hours the seems to slowly switch to longer pulses, then to constant on, then start over. Or maybe it transitions back to long pulses to short pulses?

I havnt actually watched it for A full 8 hours straight... yet tongue.gif
