i remember when i first got my LED system running. it was 50/50 white and blue. looked very bright and very purple. (like 20k+) after a week or 2 i noticed it becoming more 12-14k ish. and then just plain 10k.

that was when i stared at my tank at least once a day.

now iv been busy with work and school and noticed the lighting a lot more intense like i can barely look at it. and the purple tone is back.

have u guys noticed your eyes adjusting back and forth? same with MH.

OK, seriously, sometimes my Phoenix 14K looks more like 10k if I am seeing the light a lot. But if i come home from work etc, or the room lighting is on it looks more blue. So yes, ou eyes do adjust I believe.

The only time I see a difference is if I'm looking at aonther light source with a different color temp for a long time and go to look at something different. I have 6 tanks in my office, so that's not hard to do. Never seen a purple tint in any of the LED rigs I've built.

your just giving your retna a sunburn. Kinda like looking at someone welding. I have a 400w HQI and if I look to long all my other tanks look extremely yellow even the t5 tank.

my tank has a purple tint sometimes when I first see the light on (PAR38), but that goes away as my eyes adjust.

Do I dose with these or apply them directly to the lighting?
