So I got a teeny tiny Yellow Watchman for my Picotope (3gal, 1/2g fuge) I don't have too much coral in it either, do you guys and girls think that adding a small pistol shrimp to befriend the goby would be too much bioload?

Is this tank only one month old? I assume all the parameters are good? Well the shrimp won't add too much but I think the tank is a little small for a YWG...

Yeah the tank is a month old, parameters have been good since end of week 1, the YWG I got is just over an inch long, it's very small.

Try an get a very small pistol shrimp.

You should always go by the fish's maximum size rather than looking for "teeny tiny" specimens. Nano fish don't take long to mature. There's no reason to use a juvenile size as justification.

Not all pistol shrimp pair with gobies. It's best to research what shrimp species other people have kept with yellow watchmen.

i didn't justify the purchase based on the size of this guy alone, I know he's going to get bigger and I plan to take care of it and feed it accordingly smile.gif

I've also done a bit of reading about YWG and Pistol shrimp, but I haven't decided on a type yet. I'm just trying to figure out if with proper water changes and supplements (food etc.) will it be possible to house both of these animals in my pico.
