i have a 34gal solana thats being taken down for many reason to be built back up again later and it currently has a brand new 250watt current sunpod over it... i have a 150watt over my 14 gal which has numerous sps corals in it but i was wondering it it would be okay to swtich the two lights and put the 250 over this little biocube or if anyone has before.
all im worried about is some of my low light corals might be affected?!

If you hang it 6-10" above the water, just acclimate slowly. What low light corals do you have? Are they on the bottom?
People will tell you it's not necessary, and it isn't. But if you want you can do it. I've seen low light corals take pretty harsh lighting and grow great.

why are you trying to switch out the lights con?
if the 150 is working for you just keep it that way

I would stay with the 150 if it is doing well for you. I picked up a 250 and I have to be very very careful about acclimating new pieces, and I have a 28g.

It's true it's really not neccissary at all but If you really want to u need to get everything acclimated very slowly. I once bleached a lot of corals by just throwing a 250w halide on to my old 29 biocube. If you can't raise the light far above the water then u could try screening off the light getting in the tank with a couple layers of egg crate or a few layers of a wire or plastic mesh u find at the hardware store. Good luck!

I have couple chalices, esepcially my pumpkin patch (miami hurricane) thats a low light shaded coral that i have in no shade with the 150watt over it.
i mean i guess its not neccessary but i feel like it would be awsome. i could hang it as high as i want over the water its from the ceiling so thats not a problem.
ill just staon the safe side i suppose and stick witht he 150 and just get a new phoenix bulb
