[size="3"][/size]i have a ten gallon tank and right now i have a canister filter on it but i ordered a prizm skimmer pro and was wondering if i could take the canister off and just have the skimmer do all the work or should i leave both on??

You don't need a canister filter in the first place, and a filter is not equivalent to a skimmer.

so what do i need??? would a hang on filter do better????

yes, hang on aqua clear type filter

I believe the prizm skimmer has a media basket to run chemical filters though..
