Will it grow like a weed and kill other corals?. It would be my first coral, and since its 43% off (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=597+2856+2360&pcatid=2360) I figured it would be a decent starter coral for a 14 biocube.
I just want to make sure its not going to come back and bite me in the ass when I get other corals.

Its grows pretty fast but it wont sting any corals if that what you're asking. Im not an expert on corals but i have one and it hasnt harm anything.

I had one, took my tank over! took me forever to rid of it- and its still coming back! I would never put another one in my tank.

What size tank did you have and what sort of water flow / lighting?.

I had it in my red sea max 130D (34 gallon). I was running the stock 55watt 50/50 power-compacts. Now, I run a 150Watt metal halide with four 18 watt Actinic lights. I am finding kenya tree growing on rocks- under rocks- in the sand bed. It is a weed!!!! I am constantly removing it. I have a pretty good flow through my tank- between the stock power head (one with rotating deflector), a spray bar, and a Koralia.

they grow, but not THAT fast. I had a HH kenya with 2 branches that was about an inch tall, after 6 months it was about 3 inches tall, with tons of branches and it actually dropped 2 branches, and I glued those down too so now I have the big one and 2 little ones. They arn't the most colorful, but very cool corals IMO ... they are easy to frag if it gets too big for ya.

Sounds like thad let the coral get outa control personally. I have had one for 45 days or so seen some growth so far and it is easy to frag and keep in check.
I had one previously for a few years never had an out of control experience with it.

I had one stock in there for over a year- kept it trimmed- then I decided to remove it- that was a mistake! -now I have little pieces that are popping up 6 months after it was removed. found three this morning! I thought it was cool at first- now its annoying! I mean- I painstakingly search and remove the stuff- trying to make sure its removed- and within a few weeks- I will find it three to four 1/4 - 2 inches pieces, hiding - growing upside down under rocks. let it get outa control? When I think I have it all removed- it comes back!!! We joke in our local reef society- "for a door prize- kenya trees!" I will avoid it like the plague now!

Darksoul, may I make a recommendation? Don't buy the Kenya Tree from LiveAquaria.com, it's a waste of money (paying for a Kenya Tree, that is).
If you really want one, find some local reefers and ask around, I guarantee you'll find someone willing to give you a free frag. I go to the LFS about once a month and give them a few tree frags that I've found sprouting in my tank.

I agree! dont pay for it! Trust me- you will find people in local that are more than willing to give some away. Every time I find it- I chunk it. That is how I got mine- local reefer offered for free.

Its a great coral, but I agree you should get a free one.
I'm in SE Mi..if thats close lemme know i'll cut you off a piece! I bought one maybe 6 months ago for $5, fragged it twice. I love its look, the nice pink color, and it adds great motion to the tank too.
