10g tank is 21 days new gravity was 1.024 for 8 days just checked and it was at 1.030?have 15 lbs. of live rock 3 hermit crabs and 6 asst. frags.

Did... you ever top off freshwater?
JMAdams
When water evaporates it leaves the salt behind which raises salinity. Top off with freshwater to maintain the proper salinity.

Specific gravity can rise due to lack of top-off water. Keep the tank level constant.

When you top of it is best to use either RO/DI or distilled water.

Ok, never mind just saw that you topped off with freshwater and topped off twice...

What are you using to measure the salinity? Sometimes hydrometers can show odd readings if they have air bubbles trapped in them or if not cleaned enough.

instant ocean hydrometer.

swing arms are prone to inaccurate results. tap on it to see if you are getting all the bubbles out.

Did you add a bag of Live Sand and Live Rock and that's when it happened?

Check to make sure the hydrometer is clean. Use this to calibrate your hydrometer:

instant ocean hydrometer.

Also, make sure you rinse it out with freshwater every time you use it. It'll have salt residue left over, which will knock off the reading as well.
