ok so i am in a bind....

is it ok to use 3/4" hose(have the part to attach it to the bulkhead figured out) on a 1" bulkhead with 1" return pipe?

reason i am asking is the 3/4" hose will fit on my return pump without any adapters, the 1" hose will not..unless i add a crazy amount of adapters to it which to me =too many places to leak wink.gif

thanks a bunch!

anyone?

thanks!!

Would seem like it would be very hard to get the 3/4 tubing over 1 inch? If it does not stretch it to much and you can clamp it go ahead. But I would get a reducer and use that. 1inch to 3/4 hose barb fitting.PLASTIC no metal lol

thanks!

i am not putting 3/4 over 1"...we have that part setup already, i was just curious if it was bad for the pump to be running on 3/4" hose up to a 1" return pipe....

thanks again!!!

I would not worry that much about that. You might lose a tiny bit of pressure. But you are going to get your extra flow from another flow pump such as MP-10 or Koralia anyways. You don't want all your flow from the return pump anyways because that will cause to much overflow noise and water to run thru the sump to quick.Make sure you plumb in a valve to the sump to adjust the return. This will help if you have to much water going into the display you can open that valve a little to let some water into the sump. This helps the overflow noise.Understand?

thanks!

i kinda get what your saying....i was told by a local coral farm not to use any valves b/c snails and stuff can get stuck in there.

also i have a durso standpipe....
