So I snagged this guy today at the LFS. Acclimated him and he seems to be steadily peeking out. I dont know if this pic will be clear enough to really get a positive ID on it, but I was just curious what species this is. All he was marked as was "Flowerpot". I know they are somewhat difficult to keep, but I did some research as well as bought a thing of Phytofeast to help supplement it. Any other tips are welcome!

24 tentacles per polyp= Goniopora.

Supplemental feeding with finely chopped meaty foods will help. So will a fishless refugium with macroalgae for pod and plankton production.

I've started dripping kalk and using amino acids on my tank, and my Goniopora (different species) has responded really well.

What time of day do you feed yours? Should I basically just feed him every other day or more? That was the 2 main questions that just left my mind when I was asking questions about the darn thing lol.

I feed mine when the lights are on and the polyps are open.

Something else that might help is stirring up your sand bed with a turkey baster occasionally. This will get pods, worms, etc. into the water column, as well as stirring up detritus. All of these are coral food.
