for the most part acros need a skeleton ID to determine its exact name, but keeping it in conditions for sps will yield good results. so have good lighting, maintain high Calc and Mag levels and low nutrient levels for best colours. everything else should be stable too.

I found out that its a tenuis acro.

Like markushka said, you can't really know it's Acropora tenuis without a bleached skeleton or more standard growth form (i.e. when it's larger). There are a few hundred Acropora species...

Looks like a tenuis to me.

if it is a tenuis...
im finding lots of different care levels regarding them. I even read in one place that they will turn cream colored if the lightening is too intense and the writeup wasnt talking about bleaching. Is there such a thing as an amount of light producing an undesirable color for this coral? I have it sitting where the top of the coral is 2.5 inches from the water surface and the 150watt hqi bulb is 3 inches above the water surface. the coral is not directly under the bulb but about 2 inches adjacent to it. Thus the coral has about 5.75-6 inches total distance from the bulb. Should i be posting this on the coral forum?
