I've had my emerald crab for about 4 months with no problems with any of my corals, he was great up until now. I just witnessed the crab take a few chunks out of my duncan frag!! Anyone want an emerald crab? I think I might smash him after I catch him.... sorry just venting

It has become my opinion that all shrimps and crabs can become a problem at some point for no reason. Having had this problem currently with shrimp, I am just waiting for my well behaved emerald crab to do something bad. Once this happens I will have to remove all LR to remove all shrimp and crabs, because I have had it. I sympathize with you, and good luck.

Try not starving him next time... seems to be that when left to their own demise to find food, they like some corals. Give them something ELSE to munch on?

All emerald crabs (in my experience) go postal at some point and from then on will trash or eat your corals. They really are NOT reef friendly.

Feed him cheato grow it in your fuge and feed pieces to him. My emerald and hermits love to munch cheato when I cut off a clump and throw it in the display.
