so i just have a simple question, well at least i hope it will remain a simple question. will a gold stripe maroon mate with a regular maroon?

I'm not sure it would be 100% likely. They are technically two different species (Premnas epigramma and P. biaculeatus), but some people have crossbred Amphiprion species (like the ocellaris and percula clowns).

whats really funny is that someone is selling a mixed pair on the livestock classifieds. so i guess that answers my question.

okay so i put a tiny maroon in with my large gold stripe maroon clown and at first he chased him around the tank but then after like 3 days he doesnt bother him. he goes over and swims near the little guy but doesnt nip or chase him anymore. it seems like everyday they swim closer and closer. so i am hoping for them to pair up someday. i would think he would still be nipping at him if it didnt have some interest with the new guy.

well sad news. the larger maroon jumped out of tank. he was found dead.. tears01.gif. he had been in there for 2 years. so now i am looking for a pair of something.
